Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. It would be great to have the option to change the KDS font size larger, for both the item and modifiers. The modifiers are especially hard to read because the font is gray instead of black.

  2. We need a button in the Register app that says NO SALE that a bartender can quickly hit to open cash drawer. I have a merchant that has 7 pool tables 10 dart board machines and is constantly making change -- the way it is now is not ideal with having to enter a reason to open the drawer. The 3-4 clicks is too many for a fast pace bar that has 5 Station Solos.

    Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We are planning some updates to cash drawer workflow and will take your feedback into consideration. Bars are high pressure environments and understand the need to be able to do key actions faster. Thanks again!



  3. During Extremely busy periods, line cooks and expediterts have a tendency to not pay attention to order type. Sometimes "To-Go" orders get plated and have to be replated in to-go containers.

    If order types could be color coded on the KDS displays, it would help distinguish between order types and minimize plating errors.

  4. Need unlimited amount of Subcategories. And also would like to be able to set up Items in the correct Subcategories on Terminals not only dashboard.

    Templet spreadsheet does import subcategories in correctly when you export and re-import that same report. It puts all Subcategories in Category.
    Needs to add a Subcategory Column on the Items tab.

  5. Currently our online store does not sync with our POS when there are low counts on items. It recognizes 86 or sold out items automatically but NOT counts. This is detrimental as we have orders coming through in real time both in store and Online. Meaning we often oversell items on line that are sold out- IE - We have 2 turkey sandwiches left but someone can order as many as they want online. Please fix this!

  6. WITH CLOVER DINNING HAVE THE OPTION TO REMOVE ORDER TYPE WHEN DEALING WITH TABLES.

  7. There is currently no way to quickly determine the restaurants (or individuals) sales break down for Food and Liquor. This information (liquor sales) would be useful for servers at the end of each shift to determine the amount they must tip out the bartenders. Additionally, this information would be extremely beneficial for the restaurant to determine sales of periods (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly). There has to be a better way to do this, than continuing it on our fingers or with scrap paper. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

  8. Merchants need to be able to see the cash deposit totals by employee on their POS and not just via the dashboard. Currently, the POS shows cash deposit totals - but not by employee.

    The cash deposit totals by employee are visible in the dashboard and so this should be accessible via the POS as well.

    This is important for employees and their manager when checking cash deposits at the end of their shifts.

  9. Business owners should be able to name the batch per the location. Client gets the same report for 5 locations, easier to identify if he can name the batch per loaction.

  11. We recently added Scan to Pay at our location. The feature is receiving positive feedback from both staff and guests. However, the QR code only prints when printing a full table bill. No QR code prints when splitting the check. The QR code was a plus for me, as an owner, because we do a TON of large groups with split checks and this speeds up efficiency in check out: potentially reducing future labor costs.

    We have a work around for now, but it's clunky and time consuming. For any other full service restaurant owners facing this issue, we are

  13. I need the ability to schedule item and price updates in Clover so changes can be prepared in advance and set to go live automatically at a future date and time. For example, if I update the pricing on bagged coffee today, I should be able to schedule that update to publish on Friday at 6:00 am when the store opens. This would prevent the need to either push updates early or wait until right before opening to make time sensitive changes.

  14. KDS needs a summary of all orders with counts. If there are 5 tickets on the display, there needs to be a summary bar like freshKDS that shows for example 5 burgers 4 soups 1 sub etc. the total number or all items that are fired in a summary.

    Needs font and color sizes

    Table numbers could be bigger and Dine in or take out could be smaller

  15. New Florida State Law states, Service Charge must be taxable, tips are optional to include or exclude taxes, but additional service charges needs to be taxable, please set this up for Service Charges as new state law required for the subtotal of line items sold and service charges to be taxed.

  16. Add permission to suppress tip reporting. The data is misleading for restaurants that pool tips as the employee doesn't receipt a closeout.

  18. I am a tech for a CC processing company that uses Clover but also have been a chef for 20 years. In Clover POS I can assign a color to an item, who do I contact to have that same color be reflected on that item for the KDS as well?
    Example - If I made all salad items blue when a line cook sees the color blue they know it’s a salad.

  19. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  20. Labels don't print custom modifiers of online orders as well as orders placed on Clover devices, which renders the label printing useless. Any orders with custom modifiers will not be prepared correctly. It was great to get label printers networked, but this is the next limiting factor to broad usage.
