Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc.

  1. When the kitchen printer goes offline there needs to be a notification that stays on the screen that requires acknowledgment from the server before closing the screen out. Also, when this happens the system should automatically print the kitchen chit on the receipt printer so the server can bring this back to the kitchen staff and let them know there is a printer failure of some sort.   2. As a fast food takeout restaurant customers will call in the morning or the day before to give in their order to be ready later that day, to do that there should be an option to set a specific time when the kitchen should automatically print the order.

  4. When are you going to bring back the ability to take items offline on the register?? What is the most frustrating thing as a busy business owner is having to pull out my phone and be the ONLY one that's able to take an item offline and be able to put it back online when it's available again. I can't have employees logging into my clover account seeing my financials just to navigate the 10 step process to take an item offline.   5. KDS data available on Clover Dashboard.

    It would be awesome to have the order times, delayed orders, overdue orders, order types available in the reporting section on the clover dashboard.
    To see the number of 3rd party order apps, website traffic, et cetera.

  6. Restaurants NEED "NO" Modifiers ONLY to print in RED

    Currently we are told only ALL modifiers will print in RED

    YET other POS systems businesses are coming off of, allow to CHOOSE what will print in RED on Kitchen Orders ...

  7. Currently the KDS will show all orders even the ones already expedited to the customer. Example
    I put in an appetizer for the customer of an order of Bruschetta. On the KDS the kitchen will touch the screen to say its ready and it is removed. 10 minutes later I place their main course and the KDS will show the Bruschetta (with a check mark) and the rest of the order. When a kitchen is busy you are now asking the kitchen to make sure they look for a check mark. This needs to be resolved where the item does…

  8. I have a problem with KDS and the clover Kiosk
    First the KDS have an issue that if we adjust the size of the text to large or largest we lose the word takeout and dine in with the kiosk orders and it shows just like this ex; (Kiosk..) and the only way to fix it by keep the text on the small witch is hard to see and we are facing the same issue with the due orders so we have dine in and to go order type on the Due, and on the KDS does not show the…

  9. When making the orders on the KDS there needs to be the actual time on the top bar of the screen not just the timer when the item was fired.

  10. The chime that plays when an order is fired to the KDS is not loud enough. We turned up all the volume settings in the settings app, and with a noisy kitchen, it is very hard to hear. In some spots of the kitchen, I can't hear it at all. There also should be a way to change the type of chime that plays. Some chimes are easier to hear. I noticed in the settings app, you can change the chime type for notifications, but you cant for orders that fire to the KDS. Very disappointing. Hope its an easy…

  11. KDS - Multiple Courses - show all the courses and firing by prep time

    Different dishes has different prep time, therefore some 2nd course dishes need to be fired at the same time as 1st course dishes.
    Some items are fulfilled quickly and can end up getting cold (or warm) while waiting for service, and other items need more time. It slows service down.

  12. Need a "Server/Food Runner Mode" on multi KDS situation with functionality that ensures orders don't disappear from the server screen when the Kitchen marks an item as ready. Currently, "Expo Mode" doesn't support this feature.

    In this Server Mode, an indicator (e.g., a dot) could appear next to each item to show it has been marked as ready by the Kitchen. When the server touches the item on their screen, it would then be marked as completed on the Server Mode Screen. This would be an ideal solution. Thank you.

  13. the KDS will display ( totals or "all days"). if there are 3 orders in the KDS, it will display the "all day" totals in the queue , if there are 2 NY steak orders on all three orders, the KDS will display they are a total of 9 NY steaks that are needed

  14. I would like to access prep times per order & per day. We receive at times that food took too long and then we need to access the data. Also to monitor the efficiency of the kitchen.

  15. Linerless labels are gaining popularity with QSR restaurants, coffee and tea shops included. I don't believe the Clover thermal kitchen printer Star TSP100 will work with those labels/paper.

    Please add linerless label printer compatibility or offer the compatible printer for sale.

  16. Enable indication/notification from the KDS when the items sent to the kitchen are complete and ready for pickup by the server. This can be an indicate on the order itself and the ability to configure if a server should be notified via text or if a notification can be sent to the device that sent the order to the Kitchen.

  17. Allow the Register app to be on the KDS so employees can take orders on it. Taking a quick order from KDS screen would greatly enhance our work flow by having our customer to wait less. It wouldn't need to accept the payments, but getting an order in the system so other employees could get started on would be a game changer. Then we could take payment later.

  18. KDS Merchant request-can we turn off the sleep mode. If the KDS goes to sleep they may miss an order popping up.
