Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

  1. Need to be able to schedule upcoming closures for Clover Online Ordering and even in store hours. Holidays, special hours (like early closure), etc. Right now, we have to completely disable Clover Online Ordering because we have no way to schedule it to be closed just for say, Christmas.

  2. I need the ability to schedule item and price updates in Clover so changes can be prepared in advance and set to go live automatically at a future date and time. For example, if I update the pricing on bagged coffee today, I should be able to schedule that update to publish on Friday at 6:00 am when the store opens. This would prevent the need to either push updates early or wait until right before opening to make time sensitive changes.

  3. The dayparts for menu visibility on the Clover Station Duo, Clover Solo, Mini, etc. works great, however, the dayparts do not apply to the Kiosk, which seems like a weird oversight. We need the ability for the dayparts to also apply to the Kiosk menu visibility.

  4. It would be helpful to be able to assign a different default order type to each register rather than having to choose the order type every time. For example, a drive thru register could be set to Drive Thru as a default order type to help minimize mistakes in the kitchen.

  5. When you make an online order, when you check out the tip function defaults to the lowest tip amount. If the customer doesn't check none, it will default to the lowest tip amount instead of None. we need that to default to None!!!!

  7. Objective:
    Increase customer engagement and new customer acquisition by incentivizing referrals with discounts.

    How it works:

    Referral Code Generation:

    Each customer receives a unique referral code printed on their bill after dining.

    Sharing & Rewards:

    The customer shares the code with a friend.

    When the friend uses the code:

    Both the referrer and friend get a 10% discount.

    The friend receives a new unique code to share further.

    Automation & Tracking:

    Codes are unique and single-use.

    Self-use is prevented.

    System automatically tracks code usage and applies discounts.

  8. Options are everything! If an employee cannot have permission to perform a refund, Clover should allow a manager or admin to use their password to allow the refund to occur under the employees own reporting. Current whomever does the refund — it goes under their reporting and the Server reports are NOT accurate. We should have the permission to make it either way.Please add this feature. You have it already for discounts.

  9. We need an option to be able to print each item from an order separately, currently now the option does exist but it puts everything on one receipt and separates each item with a line. Instead of a line we need each item printed alone. I did find an app that does allow it name Smart Print but it also has a lot of bugs.

    For the restaurant we Run there’s multiple cooking stations and i need items separately to give to those cooking stations.

  10. Its nothing with the website its more with the UberEats integration.
    The modifiers needs to have a setting where my client can select the same modifier multiple times.
    Lets say i have a food combo that comes with 3 sides i want my client to be able to select 1 side 3 times if they wish to do so just like its possible to do with the ubereats interface.

  11. Restaurant Table Reservations:
    Allow restaurants to utilize an existing Clover Booking feature (currently available for Retail/Services plans) for online table reservations.

    Make this booking feature available a la carte in the Clover App Market as a stand-alone add-on for any SaaS plan, not just the Services plan.

    Advanced Reservation Options & Fees:

    Allow advance booking options up to one year.

    Enable the option for the merchant to apply a non-refundable or refundable booking fee at the time of reservation, which can then be applied against the customer's final bill at checkout.

  12. Time punches can be edited from the web dashboard but the calendar picker does not allow the user to pick the previous day and only allows who hours to be selected. This is not useful to correct time when an employee forgot to clock out the previous day and/or the time is something other than the whole hour.

    Users can click into the field an manually adjust the date and time, but the date picker should either be eliminated or functionality improved.

  13. Set a menu and or hide menus based on device (serial number or user passcode) The idea here is for a bar to automatically to open register and see the bar menu, coat check to see the coat check menu, pool side to see the pool side menu, full service in the restaurant. This way a single account can be customize by department.

  14. Full service restaurants have the following critical issue:

    Server A accidentally closes out an order to the incorrect payment method, Manager A then refunds/voids the payment, then Server A adds the correct payment method.

    In reports, it shows that Server A has taken 2 payments and that Manager A has performed 1 refund. This corrupts both the server and manager's sales reports and tip payouts.

  16. It was great to add Label Printers as networked printers, but the printers aren't available on Flex and Flex Pocket. Please add as we continue to have to use 3rd party apps for label printing.

  17. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.

I have ***** reps in my area in Oklahoma City that are going around poaching my Clover merchants at restaurants because they’re able to keep all of the stuff inside ***** and offer it at a lower cost than what they’re paying to add on third-party apps with Clover these features include online ordering marketing online Accounting and all these other features is there a way that we can bundle these things to make it cost-effective for Clover and not have a whole bunch of third-party options.
