Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!

    Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.

    Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.

    It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".

    Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.

  2. In-store our clover pos allows us to select multiple identical modifiers by tapping the plus sign next to the modifier name. Example: Order of three tacos with multiple meat options where the three options can be the same or different such as three chicken tacos or 2 chicken one steak. However when a customer places an order of that same three taco entree online they aren't allowed to select multiple of the same meat choice. They are forced to select three different kind of meat.   3. Add feature to allow merchants to cancel an online order and notify the customer. They should also be able to cancel a specific item in an order and notify the customer. If a merchant runs out of an item or needs to cancel an order for some other reason, they need the option to cancel the order and for the customer to be notified so they do not come to the business expecting their order.

  5. Can we please get a repeat button in the clover dining app? I don't want to give every employee the ability to delete printed items so that they can repeat a drink order without having to search for the drinks again. We can have a table full of drinks that need to be repeated and it takes time to have to enter them one by one

  6. Currently Payment receipts have 3 different options for modifiers.
    - Show All Modifiers
    - Show Only Priced Modifiers
    - Dont Show Modifiers

    It would be nice if Clover offered a 4th option that a lot of other POS systems do. This option would be to "Show Modifiers without Price". Essentially this will show the modifiers on each item but the up charges for each item would just accumulate to the items subtotal instead of showing them listed individually.

    For example. If I had a burger that cost $8.99 and I added an "Extra Patty" modifier for $1.50. Currently Clover's receipts…

  7. Please allow employees to use the quick reorder button (plus button) to re-ring printed items such as drinks and cocktails while not being able to void items. The current setting called “edit printed items without override” does not allow you to quickly re-ring items without giving access to void items. The option is there for “delete an item from an order” but the server needs this capability turned on. The void and plus button need to be separated as settings for printed items. This is a big deal for a high volume restaurant.

  8. A couple of my restaurant merchants would like the option to enable an Itemized Bill to automatically print along with the Expo Order Receipts that are printed when an Online Order is placed.

    Currently there is only an option to enable the expo order receipt to print so my merchants have to go into the "orders" app to print out the itemized bill for their customer. Having a setting option where this feature can be enabled would be extremely helpful for my restaurants that run a high volume of online orders.

  9. Being able to have subcategories for your categories and sub sub categories for those categories, then you don't need have to have one hundred different categories to chose

  10. Make a button on modifiers if they become unavailable like you have for the items. we have 8 dinner sides and sometimes one becomes unavailable. example we run out Cole Slaw but will have more in a few hours..... Currently we have to delete it and type it back in later

  11. Ability to add different service charge percentage or fixed fee for different sections of clover dining table mapping. Example Dine-In section 15% to go order 5% banquet hall section 10% but all sections are working tables that are simultaneously be used live in a site.

  12. Recently Clover released the feature that allows merchant to reopen completed table orders. This feature has been a great addition however merchants are only able to reopen orders if the payment was made with card.

    If the payment was made with Cash or Other Tender options then the order cannot be reopened. It can only be refunded. This does cause issues because sometimes merchants incorrectly mark the payment as cash or makes a mistake during split payments.

    The reopen feature works great with card payments but we need the merchant to have the ability reopen the order and reassign it…

  13. If someone doesn't want a topping on a sandwich, then we'd like to be able to deduct that from the price so that they aren't paying for something they aren't getting anyhow. This isn't a standard practice pretty much anywhere but for our business we'd like to set ourselves apart by offering it.

  14. Cmon 10 years, and the Closeout app and what's in finance and deposits are not even close. (STILL).

    Every owner feels like there is foul play since the closeout report total is always different than what appears in the merchant's bank account.

  15. Looking to have the time shown for when each line item on an order was added and fired back to the kitchen. This could be a report, viewable on the dashboard, or to print on the receipt. Currently you can see the time on the KP tickets when it prints.

    Use example: A customer places an order with multiple items. They state it took 30 mins for the food to come out. How can the manager verify that or know if this was the server or the kitchen?

  16. Allow for Special Instructions on Online Ordering to be optional. Customers are taking advantage of asking for additional items on food, and employees are having a hard time figuring out if items that customers are listing under special instructions have been paid for or are needing payment collected. I tried to turn this Special Instructions off myself and there is no option to do so. I also called in to Clover to ask Tech Support to turn it off for me, they said this option is not optional to have removed.

  17. When using a stock count, it would be nice if it would count the item when it fires instead of after the item is paid.

  18. When are you going to bring back the ability to take items offline on the register?? What is the most frustrating thing as a busy business owner is having to pull out my phone and be the ONLY one that's able to take an item offline and be able to put it back online when it's available again. I can't have employees logging into my clover account seeing my financials just to navigate the 10 step process to take an item offline.   19. Merchant would like the items, categories and modifiers to be listed as they appear in the inventory app on the KDS, not how they appear now, which is the order by which the server puts in the order. This current method causes modifiers to be out of order and items to be possibly listed in the wrong order as well.

  20. Merchants using Online Ordering with Clover and have Grubhub ,Doordash, UberEats integrated. When implementing stock count on the inventory, anything that gets ordered from online "Grubhub, Doordash, UberEats" should deduct the stock count automatically.
