Verification of duplicate transaction.
Please do away with this verification. It only confuses everyone and grinds service to a halt. What if the employee accidently presses the wrong button after the customer has left? It HAS happened. Why would there ever be a duplicate transaction? My Clover Flex doesn't make transactions and charge customer's cards on its own, does it?
Sometimes I have a customer that needs to pay on separate transactions but with the same card. How can two transactions for two different totals be a duplicate? First purchase is for $24 and the other is for $8 yet I'm getting asked to verify the $8 transaction isn't a duplicate of the $24 transaction? Really?
I get that sometimes something glitchy might happen while a card payment is processing so this duplicate transaction prompt could be useful if it worked. The only time I ever had someone come back about a duplicate charge on their statement, the verification prompt never came up. Once every day, I have to reboot the Clover Flex because the network cuts out in the middle of a card authorization. Since it takes close to eternity before the authorization times out, I force reboot the device. Once it's back up and running, I check the transaction log to make sure the payment didn't go through and run the card again. It approves right away and no Verification prompt ever comes up. I'll tell the customer to come back and let me know if they did actually get charged twice and I'll take care of them. Once I had someone come back. No Verification prompt. So you see this feature is useless. Please remove it.

An enhancement to this Duplicate Payment Challenge will be available in a future release. In the future, the duplicate notification will only be presented if the same amount and card are used within a few seconds.
