Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. The menu will only go one level deep. For a full service restaurant with a full bar, they have to have too many tabs because the menu won't go more than one level. They have to have a menu option for each type of liquor in order to list the corresponding cocktails and liquors rather than selecting liquor, then the type, then the ******** ordered.

  2. The bar and more tab in dining is great for open bar tabs. But for our busy bars with multiple sections it is terribly difficult when your establishment has 20 plus open take out orders and 60 open tabs. Being able separate these into multiple sections would be if great help.

    When adding a section in dining ideally it would ask if the section is to keep open tabs or if a layout is to be built in the room

  3. Merchant is wanting to have a easier way to reprint orders then to select each item. Merchant is requesting a reorder button to print entire order over again.

  4. As has been mentioned many times, the font size on the ticket is too big or too small. We need a medium one, in a better font, and the ability to SEE and therefore EDIT how the ticket is going to appear in the kitchen. I don't want words cut off halfway through and on the line below for example

  5. In the To-Go section of Clover Dining we need the words To-Go to print on the ticket so we don't need to type that in for the kitchen to know to package it to-go!

  6. Currently you see the server\bartender name on the floor plan but would like to see the customer name that we currently put in the order notes. It currently show up on the top of the order\table page next to the Table number. This give the Sever/bartender to know what customer is at the table or chair without opening the order\table page. May create a test field to include a name that will display on the floor plan next to the number of customer at the table and above the name of the Sever/ Bartender name on the floor plan.

  8. The Happy Hour App recently changed so now you can select items. However now if you want the entire category you have to go in and select ever item if you add a new item you have to go in to every happy hour special with that item you need to discount and select it. the option to do category or item would be great.

  9. I want to suggest add the print order and resend option in the clover dining. Like those in the “Table” app. Right now I only can print bill or resend to the kitchen. Cause I am a sushi restaurant, so I have two printer not just one. It is very inconvenient that I have to get out the app and then reprint the order ticket from the “Order” app.

  10. Clover Dinning needs order numbers not just table numbers. Especially, for a fast pace taqueria where keeping track of tables isn't a necessity.

  12. I would like to see high level categories in the Dining app.

    For example: a Food button and a Drink button that you can assign categories to.

    This button can be next to the chair number of the table number on the top of the screen.

  13. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to add more non-table sections to Clover Dining. They would like to have separate sections for Bar tabs and To Go Orders. Currently there is only 1 non-table section.

  14. I am a Canadian Merchant and I have several clients who have asked about having the Bar Tab Auths application made available in Canada.

    They would like the app to include an auto close out in case the client leaves without closing off their tab (forgets to close tab / skips out).

  16. Refired tickets in Clover Dining does not show deleted items.

    The system Refires the remaining items a second time. This can create duplicate orders when a kitchen is busy. The kitchen does not need to see the items that were fired the first time. They need to see the item(s) the server is deleting.
