Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Merchant would like the function when an item is not listed in the inventory and employee does not have permission to add an item to display a warming window or make a loud noise to inform the employee that the item has not been added to the order. The Clover will make the same sound even if the item is not listed in the inventory.

  2. If an item cost me 100.00 i would like to be able to click a button for a 10% mark up on cost. i would also like to be able to change prices in bulk. we want to mark everything in the store at 10% over what we pay and there is no bulk pricing button i am aware of. everything is based off discounts but we ue a mark up system here

  3. Merchant would like the ability to change the order of items with variants within the inventory application during creation or have it create the order by the order in which she creates the variants.

    Currently, you can only reorganize within the categories that the items are added to.

  4. Clover currently has the option to fire when hitting Save or Pay. Customers are requesting the ability to have the option to have the Clover Fire when the Order is paid. Currently there is an option that allows for Orders to Print when the order is paid, but this requires the merchant to select a printer, and it sends all items rather than just the items selected by the Label.

  5. PLEASE add another layer in the inventory app. Currently we have Categories and Items. We desperately need another layer in the inventory app such as Department or Subcategory. This will also greatly help us with our inventory app functionality. We have to constantly manipulate the system to make it work for our store.

  6. Real time inventory count for Clover Dining. Right now, inventory is only subtracted when the bill is paid in full, which means the items on the table during service are not subtracted from inventory so if an item is 86'd it can still be sold.

  8. We need to add a mandatory state bag fee to takeout orders, and don't want to have to add it manually to each order. Please make it possible to have a set fee added only to selected order types. Thanks

  9. When you have 0 qty and you sell that item this should now say -1 in inventory rather than staying at 0. This helps tracked wrong items sold etc.. by employees rather than thinking someone is stealing things. This is how it was since we have used clover (5 years) until the most recent update.

  10. When stock inventory tracking is enabled and account reaches zero rather than manually having to click the show and register box to and check it it should auto remove from register display.

  11. Business can have 10 waiters and 5 order types. Waitress 1 enter order and it's order 1. Waitress 5 enters different order under different order type and it's order 2 and so on and so forth for all orders. No same order numbers because of order type or waitress entered etc. There should never be the same order number printing on ticket

  12. Countdown inventory when an item is sold, example: sweatshirt, in red, blue, and gray, in sizes small through 2XL.....
    I need items to be grayed out so customers can't select a size or color I don't have. A huge bummer and I was almost ready to go online.

  13. I would really like there to be a "sale price" field in the inventory so that we can easily put items on sale without having to change the price. It would be even better if there was also a "date range" field so that I could plan sales ahead of time.

  14. Merchant wants an option to be able to sell three items for a fixed amount of 2.00 dollars. To have a an option that will allow to have "3 items for 2.00" without having to add a variable price or an order discount in the case they would like to have "6 items for 4.00" or "9 items for six dollars".

  17. We have many bakeries using the Clover Station hardware/software.
    All of these bakeries are inputting orders that need to be picked up at a later date. Right now, they are putting the pick up date as a Note on the order.
    There is no way for them to pull a daily report that shows what items are scheduled to be picked up that day.
    It would be nice for bakeries to have a button or a calendar of some type that they can assign a pick up date and time to an order, and then pull a report of all…

  18. merchant stated it takes a lot of time using the new inventory layout because she has to click on "show more" to view more items ; merchant stated the old layout was much easier to use. merchant stated once she gets the bottom of the list she has to start over and not enough space left for item name

  19. Enhancing Clover's retail variant capabilities to support creation of variants via the Web Dashboard and Importing of variants via Spreadsheet

    Many retailers sell at least some merchandise with variants. Clover offers no way to import such inventory when we sell Clover to an existing business, nor does Clover allow merchants to create and manage variants via the Web Dashboard.

    Clover's retail variants cannot be created or effectively managed via the Web Dashboard.
