Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Disabling employees when terminated without deleting order history/transactions from their profile - so when we transfer servers using clover dining we don’t see everyone names that was terminated who doesn’t work there and make the transfer server in clover dining with ease

  2. Busy restaurants make mistakes and often close the wrong sale and the server forgets to filter the sale and then accidentally closes the wrong sale. Can there be a way for a server to log in and ONLY see their sales/orders? This is a MUST for FSR's. They do not want to comingle orders with other servers. This eliminates mistakes overall.. a dollar amount can easily match another open table. Please advise!

  6. I have a QSR merchant that is counter-service with cashier's, we've been playing with a few ideas for theft prevention as one of the most common ways for employees to steal from the restaurant is manipulating the till.

    As a QSR restaurant, they have a very small menu and the prices are very easy to memorize for the cashiers. What is concerning is that the cashier can keep the till open without any alarm, alert, or any notice to the management whatsoever.

  7. The wrong name was used when the initial account was created. You are unable to edit the name on an employee, and even if you delete the employee account and create a new account with the correct name the system will automatically change the name to the wrong original name attached to that email address.

    Our RM has advised that the email is like a “fingerprint” in the Clover ecosystem. However it was originally input, errors or not, the system will always revert back to the original. Names should be able to be changed/updated/fixed - at least by the admin/owner.…

  8. We have multiple locations, but utilize the same employees at those locations. We need the ability to enter an employee once at the Multi-Location level and have the ability to select which location they need to be authorized for. Right now we have to enter the same employee at each location, which is time consuming and the margin for error is greater in not getting Access Code, Role etc the same in each place.

  9. Please allow edit employee to change the employee name. Best example is employee gets married. Deleting employee and entering again with new name is not a very good way of doing this.

  11. Ability to change server after sale. For instances a ticket was rang under wrong person for tips. It gets complicated to keep track of this when you have hundreds of tips to multiple people

  12. Ability to change the server for an order done in the register app, and to get the time that each server assisted the order that was change, to be able to split the tip properly without the need to erase the open form a server and re-open it in the new server.

  14. My cashier does only that while my employees are paid by commissions, they can't wait to enter their code for the cashier.
    They get paid by commissions and tips, my cashiers are humans and makes many mistakes, on payday it's **** for commissions reports

  15. Employees need to be able to have more than one role assigned. Again for accounting purposes. Every Restaurant has employees that work multiple roles. That way when I print out an employees hours to pay them Im able to see the role they clocked in as.

  16. Please make it so employees cannot get passed the lock-screen without clocking in by making the clock-in prompt undismissable. Meaning, when you hit cancel instead of clock-in, you are brought back to the lock screen. This will prevent employees from accidentally processing transactions without being clocked in.

  17. As a restaurant operator I find it absolutely horrifying and an immense oversight that my employees can process transactions under their own credentials without being clocked in. As a result, these transactions do not appear on the shifts report, but do appear in both the transactions and reporting apps. We hold our credit card tips, as such the employees rely on the shifts report in order to determine how much card tip they are owed and how much cash they must turn in to the house (their total cash sales).

  18. When a manager refunds an item or sale, say for instance a cash sale, the manager then shows a negative cash amount on the manager number, but the server still shows the cash amount. If the manager does multiple refunds for different servers, it become hard to figure out in the instances where the servers hold their own banks.

    Turning on refunds in the permissions for servers in not a good option.

  19. Currently, employees must have permission access to both the cash log and the register > open cash drawer. Previously, we were able to setup permissions so that employees can open the cash drawer without providing permission access to the cash log.

  20. Employees keep disabling online orders and NEVER turning it back on. Please implement a feature where employees can ONLY pause online orders for a set duration.
