Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Kitchen order receipt letter size. Need larger size like XL, jumbo 1. Jumbo 2. Current L size can only seen from few feet, station to stove can be far. Please make larger letter and bold option. Kitchen use short food name ( alternative name) paper space is not problem.

  2. Would be helpful to be able to highlight or color code tables on the dining room set up to help servers know what section is there's.

  3. Example Scenario: Waiter has opened a table in Clover Dining and has 4 Guests. Each guests has ordered a menu item. Guest 1 decided to share a menu item with Guest 2. That menu item cost $10.00

    Solution. When selecting the menu item on the screen previously to payment 3 dots appear. When those dots are selected more options appear to pay for that item or move that item.

  4. Reporting is being affected now when a manager refunds on behalf of an employee. The cash collected does not deduct from employees cash tender types from the refund because the manager or admin did the refund. In most POS systems if manager of refunding on behalf of the employee the order for the server or cashier is deducted to the owed to the cash drawer.

  6. At this time we only have the ability to search for;

    All Categories (pre programed)
    and any category we manually create

    There is no way to search for "Unclassified" items that have not been placed into a category.

  8. When using Clover Dining we are putting orders in at the guest level. Because of this we would like to see reporting down to the guest level. Thus # of guests served, average order / guest, break down of orders by guest (Food, Drink, Appetizers, etc.).

  9. lets say a family comes in and two services attend the table and they only wants to pay off one card how does the funds split knowing that two servers assist that table and that how they are going to get paid. their needs to be away for the funds to be split under both server info even though one employee logged in.

  10. I would love if we were able to take 2 barcodes, add them to the same inventory item, but they have different inventory quantities removed when scanned. So in my cigar shop For ex: Davidoff Churchill stick= 1 stick but the Davidoff Churchill box = 24 sticks. This way when my employees open a new box from inventory to be placed on the sales floor in sticks, I don't have to go into inventory, remove 1 box, and add 24 sticks to the inventory. My old system allowed me to link the 2 items together. This made it a lot…

  11. There is no way to have the orders print modifiers in the order we've set them up in the inventory app, only in the order they are entered in the register. We set up the app deliberately to mirror our line flow, so it is incredibly frustrating if a customer decides they want to add something at the end of their order because it will mean either that we need to delete and re-enter all the modifiers in the order we'd like them to print or hope that our kitchen staff will recognize that the ticket is all out of…

  12. Merchant would like admins/managers to be able to re assign a employee from a payed order.
    some times a order might get paid a closed out before the employee can noticed that the order is assign to the wrong person since the order is paid admin or managers are not able to make any updates.

    beverages at end of order if that is where the category has been moved to. This way the order comes out in the order we have placed the categories ...

  15. After a recent update the Transactions app wont remember the position on the list after a payment is clicked.

    Ex>
    Merchant will scroll down to reprint a few receipts from a previous day. Merchant will reprint one of the receipts but when going back to the list it will take her back to the top. She will have to scroll down again to the desired day to reprint the next receipt.

  16. It would be nice and would certainly save merchants loads of time, if when adding Stock (scanning in barcodes) that the stock quantities do the addition for them. Or at least there be an option of either ADD or SWAP the new stock quantities. This type of option exists in another software program that I work with and would be beneficial and a smart addition to the programming. Thanks for considering this.

  17. When customers move from one table to another after the order has been printed it would be very useful if an automated note went to the kitchen to let them know. This will stop food going to the wrong table, customers giving out to floor staff and in some instances people eating the wrong food

  18. we sell parts over the counter or in conjunction with other parts. you guys use food as most examples. so i will try that. if a customer comes in and buys a pizza, the modifier could be pepperoni. but that pepperoni doesn't come out of my inventory, nor do i know the "cost" of the pepperoni or how many i have. but i also sell pepperoni over the counter for the same price which IS in my inventory with "cost" associated with it. i use modifiers as so my counter help knows what goes along with what. but it screws…

  20. Merchant wanted to be able to create modifier and have the capability to update Min required- or Max Allowed without having to list the modifier. Modifier i.e Cornbread Max allowed at 8 without having to create 8 Cornbread Max modifiers in Inventory.
