Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Restaurant menu should have category and subcategory. For example
    Category is Breakfast menu and Omeletsis a subcategory. Is helpful for restaurant with large menu and it help the waiter to easily find and prepare an order. Also if a Main Category is no longer offered i.e. Breakfast is only till 11:00 am it should not show the menu anymore. Many places if u buy breakfast after 11:00 then the price is different.

  2. Requesting to be able to adjust or edit Orders after they have been paid. Mistakes happen where the wrong tender or item could have been selected. For instances like that, Admins should be able to make corrections when necessary, regardless if the Order is Paid or not... especially while the customer is still present and the batch is open.

  3. When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!

    Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.

    Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.

    It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".

    Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.

  4. many competing systems provide a register/table experience where the employee can see a picture of the product on the screen as they add it to the order. This can speed up the order entry process for the business. Many small-medium sized businesses have requested this functionality through my organization.

  5. The ability to assign cash drawers to an employee, cashier in the clover app. Ability to assign single or multiple. Ability to run and drawer report and remove/cash out employee till and reassign new employee.

  6. We need the ability to restrict discounts on certain items such as Alcohol..on both on order level discount and an item level discount. Our coupons offer % and flat amount discounts that exclude alcohol. We need the ability to select an order level discount and only have the non-alcohol items receive the discount..Thanks

  9. Merchant is requesting to have a 2nd email added as an owner. Some businesses have co-owners and they need to be able to make changes to the account or have the authentication One Time Code sent to them too

  11. FSR's have shown me their receipts from their previous systems, and have all asked for something to be changed on our order receipts which I cannot do:
    - font sizes/bolding/color
    - horizontal lines between guests or courses on an order (our receipts do not clearly differentiate between one guest/course and another -and it's easy for a cook to miss something)
    - the ability to change a header/sub-header that must print (whether under an individual guest, or the whole table...Appetizers as a prominent head/category, then the item below, then "Entrees" and so forth)

  12. Conversational Modifiers that automatically include the buttons “add,” “extra,” “side,” “sub,” “no,” and “allergy” to the modifiers screen in dining and register app for faster order entry

  13. Currently, when using the the Inventory Stock Tracking & Auto Decrement, The Clover does not add returned items back into the stock quantities. This is causing inaccurate stock counts.

    Example:
    Business has 10x bottles of water currently in their inventory, and sells 1 bottle. New current Inventory is now 9 bottles of water. But if the customer returns the bottle of water, the current inventory is still 9 Bottles. The business owner will have to fix it manually, by going into the inventory app, finding the product, and update the quantity.

  14. As a Clover merchant who manages item stock count with the Clover Inventory app I would like to receive stock alerts when item stock is low (or has run out) so that I am given advanced notice about low stock and I'm able to place orders with my vendors before I run out of that item.

  15. In Clover Dining, a table wants to order something to-go. It would be very nice to be able to touch that item and click a 'To-Go' button so taxes are removed from that item and at the same time notify the cook via order receipt that it is to go so the item is boxed and not plated.

  16. We have a lunch menu (category of items) that should only be active a certain time on certain days, i.e. weekdays. What is the best way to make this only available during lunch hours on weekdays? There is a hide and unhide of items but that is a manual process and not efficient. There is a 3rd party happy hour app but that is only applying certain discounts, not an entirely separate menu with it's own special pricing. This is a feature that is widely available on most other order platforms. Please implement this as soon as you can.

  17. This should be for all devices. We should be able to control access to delete items before fire, save, or cash, and NOT AFTER fire, save or cash.

  18. Increase the maximum number of items allowed in a category beyond 1,000. Suggest 10,000. We have to create sub-categories as a work around. An inventory file cannot be imported with a category item count above 1,000.

  19. We have various situations in which items may sell in quantities exceeding the stock level, and we need to track the number sold into negative stock levels. Negative values in inventory were previously supported and we relied on this feature.

  20. Allow merchants to have the option to hide an entire category from the register during a specific period of time. The merchant does not want the employees to see the lunch special category at all in the register outside of lunch hours and vice versa for dinner hours or breakfast. This could be an enhancement for the Happy Hours app or a newly built app altogether.
