The tip screen and signature line should be on same screen
It is very awkward, presumptive, and feels like bad manners to hand the Clover Flex device to a customer after a spa service and the first and only thing they see is the tip screen. Sometimes customers appear to be taken aback by this as tips are supposed to be a gratuity (not expected as I was always taught) By handing them the device with that tip screen as their first interaction with processing their payment, it is startling. I believe that having the signature line on the same screen as the tip screen is more polite and encouraging because you are handing them the device to sign for payment...and, oh, by the way, perhaps a friendly reminder to tip rather than handing them the device "hello, just a tip screen!, then the next screen, then signing). Am I the only one who feels awkward about this customer interface for processing with my Clover Flex? It would be great if we had the option to have the signature line on the same screen as the tip prompts, because the customer knows the reason you are handing them the device is to process their payment with an added gratuity of their choosing rather than handing them a device and the first and only interaction with them is asking for a tip. It makes for an uncomfortable interaction because it puts the customer on the spot (yes, even though tipping is expected in the spa service industry, we want to be graceful and gracious about it). I hope the Clover designer team can take a look at redesigning this.
Hello,
Thank you for your suggestion, but this request does not align with our current priorities.
Best,

totally agreed, we used to have another payment system that had it all on the signature screen together way less pressure to the customer .
Add that option clover team!!!!! it's not even that complicated change to the software code.

At least you get that option. Here, we have to hand them the device. Let them pick their tip. Then hand it back to us to run then card, then back to them to sign. Do it like a paper receipt..... run the card, then let them add a tip and sign. A separate screen, i'm indifferent about.... Haven't used enough to decide. The screen is bigger so same screen might be OK vs square which was too tight.
But the larger screen gives room for a 4th tip option which is nice

I totally agree with this suggestion. For those of us in the service industry understands how this should be presented. I am thinking about switching back to Square just to have this options. Really, someone on the clover team needs to get on this simple modification to gain more customers. Thank you!
