Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Merchant currently uses the Clover Dining App for their restaurant. They run a special 24/7 called "Buy One, Get One Free" for their drinks. The drinks are listed as items in their inventory (ex. jumbo frozen lime margarita, draft bud light, tall michelob ultra) and are all categorized and priced differently. When the merchant goes to select two drinks (Jumbo Strawberry Margarita $9.99 and Tall Bug Light $5.99), they would like for the cheapest item to be discounted (free) automatically when selected.   2. Currently, in non-table ordering section, it only shows customer, note, and amount. Non-table order can consist of many types such as calling, wating, Uber Eats, and other 3rd party vendors. I have no idea from non-table ordering section to see where the orders are coming from. For now, the workaround is opening to see from Orders app. This is not efficient at all.

  3. Allow a large party order to be put in together, but sent separately. For example, on a 20 top, take all the orders, but send them 4 items at a time on 5 tickets. This will ensure the large tables order will fire at the same time, but not on one long ticket.

  5. FSR clients need the ability to combine or merge two tables together to accommodate large groups. They need to be able to combine to tables from their dining room layout to make one new table, rending the other unavailable. Example: merge two tables together and auto generate a table # combining the two (A1 + A2 = A1A2). This and the ability to remain in table once firing are required for FSR.

  6. Refired tickets in Clover Dining does not show deleted items.

    The system Refires the remaining items a second time. This can create duplicate orders when a kitchen is busy. The kitchen does not need to see the items that were fired the first time. They need to see the item(s) the server is deleting.

  7. In Clover Dining, a table wants to order something to-go. It would be very nice to be able to touch that item and click a 'To-Go' button so taxes are removed from that item and at the same time notify the cook via order receipt that it is to go so the item is boxed and not plated.

  9. The Happy Hour App recently changed so now you can select items. However now if you want the entire category you have to go in and select ever item if you add a new item you have to go in to every happy hour special with that item you need to discount and select it. the option to do category or item would be great.

  10. Merchant would like for the names of guests to appear on the seat locations in the Dining app. Example: Seat/Guest1 have an editable field for name.

  11. Would like to be able to select modifier and change the quantity. Example: In the Tables app we used to be able to select a modifier for a type of salad dressing, and if someone wanted more a different quantity could be selected.

  13. On the Bar and More screen, when a manager logs in they can see all open tabs. If they are looking for a specific server's tab, they are unable to easily locate it.

    The tabs should be grouped by server, have the server's name at the top of the square, or have a unique color arcoss the top of the tab and group colors together.

    As of now, there is no easy way to locate a tab on the Bar and More screen when you have a lot of them open.

  14. Allow managers to assign tables to a server/employee in Clover Dining. In conjunction, provide the ability to cash out a server/employee and assign the tip to the original server.

  16. Would like to be able to allow a guest to use two forms of payments in Clover Dining. Currently if you pay by guest, it makes the guest make the whole payment.

  19. I am a Canadian Merchant and I have several clients who have asked about having the Bar Tab Auths application made available in Canada.

    They would like the app to include an auto close out in case the client leaves without closing off their tab (forgets to close tab / skips out).

  20. With the Tables app, you can release a table into Open Orders when there are still items on the Order.

    There is no function for that currently. Occasionally, we need to release a table just to move forward when we are busy.

    With Clover Dining, you have to remove all the items and then audit removed items at the end of the day to prevent theft.
