Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Restaurant menu should have category and subcategory. For example
    Category is Breakfast menu and Omeletsis a subcategory. Is helpful for restaurant with large menu and it help the waiter to easily find and prepare an order. Also if a Main Category is no longer offered i.e. Breakfast is only till 11:00 am it should not show the menu anymore. Many places if u buy breakfast after 11:00 then the price is different.

  2. When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!

    Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.

    Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.

    It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".

    Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.

  4. We have a lunch menu (category of items) that should only be active a certain time on certain days, i.e. weekdays. What is the best way to make this only available during lunch hours on weekdays? There is a hide and unhide of items but that is a manual process and not efficient. There is a 3rd party happy hour app but that is only applying certain discounts, not an entirely separate menu with it's own special pricing. This is a feature that is widely available on most other order platforms. Please implement this as soon as you can.

  5. In Clover Dining, a table wants to order something to-go. It would be very nice to be able to touch that item and click a 'To-Go' button so taxes are removed from that item and at the same time notify the cook via order receipt that it is to go so the item is boxed and not plated.

  6. Let's say Table 15 ordered another bottle of wine, but the server places it under Table 5. We need to be able to move that item to the proper table.

  7. Add option to name each guest at the table. This will make it easier for staff to determine who is who with each table when you have joiners!

  8. Please add the option for Sub-Modifiers. For example: You choose the main Item, Modifier for which side comes up, say salad is an option, that is chosen, then a Sub-Modifier for that particular choice prompts which dressing.

  9. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to put Clover Dining in Test Mode for server training. The Register software currently has this capability.

  10. FSR Merchants are requesting the ability to add more non-table sections to Clover Dining. They would like to have separate sections for Bar tabs and To Go Orders. Currently there is only 1 non-table section.

  12. FSR clients need the ability to combine or merge two tables together to accommodate large groups. They need to be able to combine to tables from their dining room layout to make one new table, rending the other unavailable. Example: merge two tables together and auto generate a table # combining the two (A1 + A2 = A1A2). This and the ability to remain in table once firing are required for FSR.

  13. I should be able to see what is in my cash drawer somewhere. Like when a server comes in for the evening shift and passes the drawer off they should be able to see a drawer total so they can count it.

  15. Merchant would like for the names of guests to appear on the seat locations in the Dining app. Example: Seat/Guest1 have an editable field for name.

  16. Merchant is wanting to have a easier way to reprint orders then to select each item. Merchant is requesting a reorder button to print entire order over again.

  17. As has been mentioned many times, the font size on the ticket is too big or too small. We need a medium one, in a better font, and the ability to SEE and therefore EDIT how the ticket is going to appear in the kitchen. I don't want words cut off halfway through and on the line below for example

  18. Would like to be able to select modifier and change the quantity. Example: In the Tables app we used to be able to select a modifier for a type of salad dressing, and if someone wanted more a different quantity could be selected.

  20. I would like to see high level categories in the Dining app.

    For example: a Food button and a Drink button that you can assign categories to.

    This button can be next to the chair number of the table number on the top of the screen.
