Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Currently you see the server\bartender name on the floor plan but would like to see the customer name that we currently put in the order notes. It currently show up on the top of the order\table page next to the Table number. This give the Sever/bartender to know what customer is at the table or chair without opening the order\table page. May create a test field to include a name that will display on the floor plan next to the number of customer at the table and above the name of the Sever/ Bartender name on the floor plan.

  2. Allow managers to assign tables to a server/employee in Clover Dining. In conjunction, provide the ability to cash out a server/employee and assign the tip to the original server.

  3. Hi, Please let us be able to separate menu hours for breakfast and lunch.
    We serve Breakfast and Lunch and when we put it online, people get confused because there's no separation of hours between them.

  4. Would like to be able to allow a guest to use two forms of payments in Clover Dining. Currently if you pay by guest, it makes the guest make the whole payment.

  6. The ability to edit the physical size of the table, such as making it smaller. The option to draw lines to separate the sections of the rooms to mimic the layout of the floor plan. Also having the ability to edit the floorplan on the Web Dashboard and customize the tables with different colors.

  7. Server closes the wrong table and quickly realizes the mistake. There is no way to reopen the table to my knowledge without reentering all the orders. If its a large table what a pain.

  10. In the Tables app there should be a permission setting to restrict servers from un-claiming a table after it has been claimed. Currently, a server is able to un-claim a table and assign it to another server without the other server's knowledge. This is a huge concern for many full-service restaurants with server banking.

  11. I am the Business Consultant, and I have lost several deals to Square since the Square merchant can customize/upload their pictures to ring up a customer's order. Every hamburger looks different for every merchant, and this is why he likes to upload his own pictures to his own menu. This makes it easier for the millennial ringing up the order to not mess up the order. (This is what my merchant told me)

  12. Refired tickets in Clover Dining does not show deleted items.

    The system Refires the remaining items a second time. This can create duplicate orders when a kitchen is busy. The kitchen does not need to see the items that were fired the first time. They need to see the item(s) the server is deleting.

  13. Request for HOLD BUTTON to delay kitchen printer from FIRING for later TO GO orders (or part of coursing). Mins & Hrs req'd (maybe a dial).

    I searched for a delay fire, order app that would do this, and didn't see one. Does one already exist? I could sell to 2 large locations if we had this!

  15. Hit Repeat Round Button in Clover Dining, select Printed Drinks, and all the same modifiers, under multiple guests, Pop up stop screen, are you sure you want to repeat? Done. Adds to respective guests. This could also be used for All You Can Eat nights. Bottomless Sides, etc.

  16. we need something (maybe even in Clover Dining) that a restaurant can use for simple reservations. Clover can do so much at no additional cost to the merchant. Something this basic/simple really needs to also be available

  18. Let me say, I love your technology. We recently installed 3 Clover PoS stations in our full-service restaurant and you guys knocked it out of the park.

    That being said...it is clear that those who wrote the technology have spent very little time being 'in a hurry' while working on the floor of a full service dining room. Your programs are missing a multitude of features that speed a front of house employee's job up that are common across all other platforms. (Aldelo, Micros, Aloha, Squirrel etc.)

  19. I want to be able to cashout the order of a guest and that the orders of the other guests remain open under clover Dinning. Right now it's not convenient for me, because many clients want to keep ordering but when a guest wants to leave, there is only the option to split the payment but you have to close the entire order.

  20. On the Clover Dining app, we need the ability to HOLD an item from ever getting printed in the kitchen. Sometimes, we rush into the kitchen to get the item or had already asked verbally the kitchen staff to make it, we don't want to print it again, hence, we hold it on the POS.
