Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. Many full service restaurants have large menus with MANY categories or they have the same item in their dinner and lunch menu but at different prices and/or portions. In clover, this results in FAR too many categories for a server to easily navigate. It would be great to have another layer of "sub-categorization" in the Clover Inventory. This can be to identify meal period (breakfast, Lunch, Dinner) or to separate out a bar menu from a food menu. I've lost many merchants to Toast for this specific feature.

  2. It would be great if I can have the same menu items for lunch and dinner and have them switch price based on time of day

  3. We currently have to use a paper book to take bookings and when I am away from the restaurant I can’t access the book to check available tables

  4. On Clover Dining, if there is an open order and the server puts in drinks/food would be great if it could turn orange after 15 minutes or start flashing if they forget to fire to the kitchen printer.

  5. At the moment, it appears as though custom modifiers that staff add to an item in a fine dining restaurant are automatically shown on a customer bill when printing the customer bill. There appears to be a setting to hide them on customer receipt. However, 95% of most fine dining establishments provide their customers with a paper copy of their bill. It's very embarassing for some customers who are part of a group and if the company / CEO is paying the bill, they can see the custom modifiers that are non-priced (i.e. No dairy, lactose intolerant, etc.) for an…

  7. For apps with icons on the top right of the title bar, could you space them farther apart and have them colored instead of being gray color. We have trouble see gray against white and we have fat fingers….

  9. Owner uses clover dining and tables and wants to split different ways on guests or per guest as a guest may pay with 2 different type of cards. Right now it is required to move orders to different table but if all tables are used there are not more split in different and types of tenders by each guests

  11. Thank you for adding, "Scheduled Orders". I was waiting for this. But there are some dishes that require 24 hour notice to make. While the customer is on the webpage placing an order, if they select an item that would need 24 hour notice, the customer NOW has the option to pick "Food Preparation Time" in my case is 30 Min. verses only "Scheduled Orders". If us the user can deselect that feature, it would be great. Now, if the customer was to pick a dish that is "Food Preparation Time" and a dish that is a "Scheduled Orders", the…

  12. Allow a large party order to be put in together, but sent separately. For example, on a 20 top, take all the orders, but send them 4 items at a time on 5 tickets. This will ensure the large tables order will fire at the same time, but not on one long ticket.

  14. Ability to send the order to kitchen with show the appetizer and the rest of the order with priority time. For example show the chef that the meatball (appetizer) comes before that any pasta (main course).

  15. Need to be able to make the table of new customers a special color so that everyone knows it is a first- or second-time customer. have it put on order in kitchen that it is there first time. to alert all staff.

  16. Our facility offers different menus (categories) at different locations on the same property sometimes at the same time. When running reports, it would be helpful to differentiate which items were sold at which location. Currently, the reporting system will only indicate an item in the category where it was first programmed. For example, if bottled water is being sold in multiple categories, it will only report sales in one of the categories. Please advise if there is a solution for this. Thanks!

  17. The order receipt that is printed to the kitchen is confusing staff who had just switched from an older system and they are confused because the items come in as they were entered chronologically. Instead, we juts need a simple feature to "Group Categories".

    For example, Sandwiches, Sides, Etc.

    Right now, line items:

    1 Sandwich
    1 Fries
    1 Dessert
    1 Sandwich
    and so on..

  18. When a restaurant has more then 1 bar, we have no option to choose which one to print to. If we are using register and omit the printer labels on all of the alcohol items, it does pull up a list of all items on the order including food, but it lists all items individually to pick and choose the printer. This setting is based on "save and pay", which does not apply to Dining.

    Could we have an option for "manual" print when assigning printer labels? That way we could assign that to all items where we need an…

  19. Currently the inventory doesn't decrease in restaurants for open checks. If someone orders an item that has to be decreased since there are limited items such as specials, etc.. or limited seasonal items, then for restaurants, the on hand count should decrease as the item is ordered. In current state, the inventory doesn't decrease until the check has been closed out and this gives false on hand counts which can cause servers to order items that have been depleted already. For restaurants, please decrease on hand counts when items have been fired to the printer instead of when the check…
