Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  2. Currently, in non-table ordering section, it only shows customer, note, and amount. Non-table order can consist of many types such as calling, wating, Uber Eats, and other 3rd party vendors. I have no idea from non-table ordering section to see where the orders are coming from. For now, the workaround is opening to see from Orders app. This is not efficient at all.

  3. This is a bug, not a feature, but the tech support person told me to report it here. When you change the layout in an inventory category, it does not change on the online menu -- for days -- you should be able to immediately see your changes on the online menu, and not wait for some trigger/reset to happen.

  4. We currently have to use a paper book to take bookings and when I am away from the restaurant I can’t access the book to check available tables

  5. Have guest count for each check be required, and have kitchen ticket print option so that fired items don't have to be broken down by guest. For full service, non fine dining restaurants this would be optimal to reduce kitchen ticket size.

    Putting everything under the "whole table" header is confusing and inefficient.

  6. I caught my employees, just adding quantity to existing order instead of a new drink. By doing this they are adding to existing happy hour prices, instead of a new drink at full price. So customers who come in right before happy hour ends, are still receiving happy hour prices as long as bartenders add to it and not ring in a new drink. POS should automatically eliminate and stop happy hour prices since times are entered in pos.....

  7. On Clover Dining, if there is an open order and the server puts in drinks/food would be great if it could turn orange after 15 minutes or start flashing if they forget to fire to the kitchen printer.

  8. At the moment, it appears as though custom modifiers that staff add to an item in a fine dining restaurant are automatically shown on a customer bill when printing the customer bill. There appears to be a setting to hide them on customer receipt. However, 95% of most fine dining establishments provide their customers with a paper copy of their bill. It's very embarassing for some customers who are part of a group and if the company / CEO is paying the bill, they can see the custom modifiers that are non-priced (i.e. No dairy, lactose intolerant, etc.) for an…

  10. For apps with icons on the top right of the title bar, could you space them farther apart and have them colored instead of being gray color. We have trouble see gray against white and we have fat fingers….

  12. Owner uses clover dining and tables and wants to split different ways on guests or per guest as a guest may pay with 2 different type of cards. Right now it is required to move orders to different table but if all tables are used there are not more split in different and types of tenders by each guests

  13. Thank you for adding, "Scheduled Orders". I was waiting for this. But there are some dishes that require 24 hour notice to make. While the customer is on the webpage placing an order, if they select an item that would need 24 hour notice, the customer NOW has the option to pick "Food Preparation Time" in my case is 30 Min. verses only "Scheduled Orders". If us the user can deselect that feature, it would be great. Now, if the customer was to pick a dish that is "Food Preparation Time" and a dish that is a "Scheduled Orders", the…

  14. Allow a large party order to be put in together, but sent separately. For example, on a 20 top, take all the orders, but send them 4 items at a time on 5 tickets. This will ensure the large tables order will fire at the same time, but not on one long ticket.

  16. Needs real running timer showing from the table layout for an efficient operation. There are many AYCE restaurants with time limits, currently Clover Dinning app only indicates tables in red at certain preset time and servers need to click each table to check the actual running time or they need to login to web dashboard to check entire tables timer at once.   18. For takeaway orders in the UK, there are different VAT rules to eat-in orders. We need the ability to force the takeaway Section in the Dining App to use a different order type to that used in the Seated Sections. The ability to select it in the Register App means that the wrong order type can be selected; which has implications in assigning the correct VAT treatment to the items ordered.

  20. Need to be able to make the table of new customers a special color so that everyone knows it is a first- or second-time customer. have it put on order in kitchen that it is there first time. to alert all staff.
