Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. It would be great if there was a way to transfer all the tables in a section, and/or all of the bar and more tabs. This would really help my staff when we are switching over to the night bartender from the day, as well as when servers have been cut.

  2. With the Tables app, you can release a table into Open Orders when there are still items on the Order.

    There is no function for that currently. Occasionally, we need to release a table just to move forward when we are busy.

    With Clover Dining, you have to remove all the items and then audit removed items at the end of the day to prevent theft.

  3. We have one main company and 3 different menus for different areas. I can't have my staff scrolling through to try to find the correct menu / item. We should be able to have a main category - subcategories level - and then the items with modifiers.

  4. There needs to be a quick button for naming a bar tab. Using the notes function isn't an efficient use of time and time is money when you're trying to knock back a line of thirsty customers. Please Fix.

  5. I want to suggest add the print order and resend option in the clover dining. Like those in the “Table” app. Right now I only can print bill or resend to the kitchen. Cause I am a sushi restaurant, so I have two printer not just one. It is very inconvenient that I have to get out the app and then reprint the order ticket from the “Order” app.

  6. On the Bar and More screen, when a manager logs in they can see all open tabs. If they are looking for a specific server's tab, they are unable to easily locate it.

    The tabs should be grouped by server, have the server's name at the top of the square, or have a unique color arcoss the top of the tab and group colors together.

    As of now, there is no easy way to locate a tab on the Bar and More screen when you have a lot of them open.

  7. An integration with Open Table could make the Clover ecosystem very strong. There are many small-medium sized businesses that subscribe to this service and would like to have it integrated in with their clover system.

  8. menufy , customers orders into clover and easy print out for kitchen printer and cashier,, Please integrate these service so we dont have 4 tablets on the counter top.

  9. Automatic coursing would be great based off labels. Easier for kitchen to see what needs to be out first and read ticket easier it gives it a bigger gap between ticket info

  10. With Dining and Register...busy restaurants need the ability to send cancellation tickets to the kitchen. Please make this another button within each item (within the existing order). Further, this has to go to the order printer/KDS only...it should NOT appear on the customer's bill!

  11. Multiple Menu. Can you please add the capabilities to have multiple menus for 1 mid instead of using 2 mids as is the practice now.

  12. In the To-Go section of Clover Dining we need the words To-Go to print on the ticket so we don't need to type that in for the kitchen to know to package it to-go!

  13. The merchant wants to be able to delete an entire Order after the ticket has already been printed out or sent to the kitchen. The merchant does not want to remove or delete the items individually.

  14. when you make changes or void on any fired items, kitchen will need to get notified as well and you should able to destinate which order printer to receive this notifications, so our food runner or chef can make sure the modification or deleted item will not be made accordingly. The current system forces our employees to run or walk to the kitchen to notify this. Add note is not wise because it can be ignored and require many typing.

  15. We need a 3rd Party Ordering Check Box so we can have a separate Inventory/Menu, in the INVENTORY>ITEMS submenu so that we can price DoorDash etc independently, from our POS or our own Online Pricing

  17. I need the option to have menus on a time schedule. such as lunch category can only be ordered from mon-fri 11am to 3pm etc. this is a feature in most ordering systems. im not sure why it isnt on clover.

  18. Easily 75% of all FSRs in the greater NYC area use OpenTable for their reservations. To NOT integrate directly with OpenTable is a huge yellow flag for established FSRs to switch to Clover.

  19. The bar and more tab in dining is great for open bar tabs. But for our busy bars with multiple sections it is terribly difficult when your establishment has 20 plus open take out orders and 60 open tabs. Being able separate these into multiple sections would be if great help.

    When adding a section in dining ideally it would ask if the section is to keep open tabs or if a layout is to be built in the room
