Do we have an ETA on this?

I have a Boba tea bar category that has 2 items 1st milk tea 2nd fruit tea now in the milk tea I have a modifier that give the customer the milk tea flavors we have to chose from and next another modifier to chose the size and then another modifier to chose the boba type but I have 2 flavors of the milk tea that we prepare them with the customer choice of milk and if I added another modifier to chose the type of milk it will be applied to all the flavor so what I need is to be able to add a modifier to the modifier or we can solve the issue by adding a category to the original category so it will be
the main category BOBA TEA BAR
then 2 categories fall under it MILK TEA FRUIT TEA
then items and each item can have its own modifier.

I used to use Clover years ago and I could have sworn they had subcategories. I just got my new Clover but I don't think I'm going to keep it.

Clover needs to have a modifier on a modifier. This is something most POS systems can do. Shocked Clover hasn't rolled this capability out yet.

This is very important for restaurants that would love to offer combos.

On the menu options, can you please enable a Sub Category Option which would allow restaurants the ability to add multiple Sub Categories within a defined Category.

Ideally, the options would look like this: Category > Sub Category > Items > Modifier Group > Modifier.

For Example: If the Main Category is Breakfast, the Sub Categories might be Eggs, Omelettes, Pancakes, Waffles, etc. The respective Items could them be added within each Sub-Category.

Do we have an update on this?

Is this issue still "under review?" It has been nearly five years since the original post, and the feature is still missing. There is no such thing as a perfect system that suits all users needs, but attention to basic features seems like a small ask.

Merchants have been requesting this for almost 6 years within Clover Support. Multiple updates have been made to Clover's inventory since. Is there any update on when Clover will push this simple feature?

I agree. We have an Ice Cream business. We would like to drive the Min/Max options on our Flavor Modifier so that if a One Scoop item is selected then the customer would select 1 and only one flavor.

If a Two Scoop Item is selected then the customer would need to select a quantity of 2 Flavor modifiers. It could be two scoops of 1 flavor or 1 scoop of Vanilla and one scoop of chocolate.

If a Three Scoop Item was selected then Min = 3 and Max = 3.

Otherwise the only way to accomplish this is to have a separately-managed Flavor Modifier for one scoop, two scoop and three scoop Items. This is NOT manageable when flavors are added, removed and changed often.

Suggestion appreciated but that still ignores the entire point of the request. Clearly, the ones within Clover who are suggesting things like this have NEVER worked in a restaurant with a major POS System. Respectfully, that explains why the concept of multi-layered modifiers, and modifiers that are triggered (popping up only IF...) flies clear over the heads of that type of individual.
Nobody has time to scroll endlessly until finally finding the exact modifier in a sea of them. If you're not ordering a baked potato, for example, WHY WHY WHY does it HAVE to show those modifiers?, If instead you're NOT ordering a Salad as the side option, WHY do you need to display all of those salad adds/minuses? It's insane really to think that one must scroll through every possible combination of options in spite of the fact that - in this example - there are only TWO sides that are included with the "meal" combination.
So, to answer: YES we've tried that. We've frankly gotten pretty good at working around many of Clover POS deficits in comparison to the rest of the POS world.
But there's no hiding this extreme deficit. It must be addressed, and soon, especially when the SaaS costs continue to rise regularly.

Yes, this would be very helpful for restaurants using your POS. I have a platter option that a customer can select 3 menu items from a list of 10. Max of 3. If a customer orders an item individually, they have the option to modify (extra meat, remove ingredient, etc.). This is not possible if I setup the items as modifiers to be able to select a max of 3. I can only put in the name of each item and my cashier has to manually type out the modifiers which is painful for the kitchen to read. If this is not on your roadmap, when is another way to setup something like this?

We have competing POS systems that have as many modifier levels you want, and they prompt, and no, it isn't yet another modifier group you have to scroll through, it walks the server through the natural conversational ordering process. One is on Windows, one is on iOS. At this point as we approach 2023, I have to ask the question: is it Android, or is it that Clover just doesn't want to commit the resources to provide this basic functionality for ALL Table Service Restaurants? If you can't do this, how can we honestly claim to compete with the ones that did commit their resources to get it right?
Please PLEASE get this feature worked out!

Inventory App - The ability to restrict or add modifiers based on other modifiers already selected. For example, to have a Size modifier that will enable different choices based on the size selected.
