Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

  1. Enable the option to add chairs to a table layout based on their actual physical position, mirroring capabilities found in other POS systems.

    Expand the available object types and shapes for designing the restaurant layout.

    Allow the vertical orientation for table/object names within the layout view.

  2. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.

  4. On the KDS when enabling group identical items it should separate the items by guest.

    Not grouping the guest because it’s very confusing. And there’s no setting to disable guest from grouping together.

    Sort Group items by each guest individually.

  5. Please find a way to limit Clover software updates to outside of business hours. We've heard a number of complaints about updates happening during peak hours that have been negatively impacting business

  6. Hello, with the situations with the restaurants, specially with mine, I am always short staffed for the past few months. This means, many customer calls are missed while our staff is serving dine-in customers. So, the idea is to route all the calls to our remote staff who can take all the orders from the customers and place the orders remotely via clover app. This way, if the customer calls are handled, then the staff onsite can take care of the dine-ins. I understand there few prep works and coordination needed, but that's doable than loosing the business itself

  7. We would like if there was a way to have pop-up prompts come up before moving on to certain fields like asking the customer count before food ordering or ringing out! This has become important to us to have because by example the restaurant is all you can, missing inputting the customer number count can greatly affect business, what will happen is that the employee will move onto orders or payments with out filling this out, so maybe only one person of a table of six will be charged! So we want prompts that come up just asking to confirm…

  8. Restaurant software offers the options to add service charge, restaurant owners want service charge by order type, if the order type in MAIN has a different percentage than another order type, they want the ability to to charge different % amount by order type take out vs main dining

  9. We would you like to know time between when an order is placed and when it is marked as fulfilled or completed. This will help improve customer satisfaction but also can be tool for training and promotion.

  10. enable Service Charge if used as auto gratuity for large parties to be part of TIP
    not part of the Service Charges so the total tip server collected can be used to calculate end-of-day server settlement with the house.

  11. When there are 3rd party platform like uber, the promotions that are run in uber or other 3rd party platforms are not congruent with the reporting in Clover Reporting dashboard or app

  12. Print the full order with all courses shown. The ones to be fired are shown as prepare, the course to follow show hold. This way the kitchen knows what is coming and can plan. Then the wait staff can send a re-fire to prepare the courses when needed.

  13. Can we put the clock on a dining table on the map, so that when we get into the map we can see how long someone has been at the table?

  14. Your tax reporting is INACCURATE.
    We need a clear way to determine meals taxes. THIS IS CRITICAL.
    Your tax statements and reports are a mess. We can not use what is in your reports as it blends POS taxes with delivery app taxes. We need a way to clearly show net sales and taxes from the POS.
    You currently show the amount collect from each order type at the bottom of your sales report. Please also add net sales and taxes for each order type.
    I've found that your tax report does not break out meals tax and no tax…

  15. I see that this report is now available, however, will it be able to show the total cover counts for past dates? When i click on the report, it just launches me into Clover Dining and shows me the current open tables. I need this report to show me how many total guests we had on specific past dates.

  16. There should have an option for the order printing, each printed ticket should able to auto-cut after each item or category to allow physical separation.

    This enables both preparation of the dishes and placing the receipt under each dish for table delivery guidance.

    use case example:

    In a busy restaurant, several tables place orders for sushi items that are prepared by the same chef and printed to the same kitchen printer. For instance:

    Table A orders: Sushi A ×1, B ×2, C ×3, D ×1, E ×2, F ×1

    Table B orders: Sushi A ×2, C ×2, D ×3, E…

  17. A merchant has the QR clover online ordering in a food truck space where there many food trucks parked. The facility has their online clover website in their main website. When their customer is using their clover online ordering platform for pick up the clover KDS doesn't send a sms that the order is ready for pick up and Kiosk works. They would like the clover online ordering website hosted by clover for pick up orders to also be able to send sms text like the Kiosk from Kitchen Display

  18. I want to be able to disable/hide a menu category from the POS devices without fully removing it. If a menu category is unused at the moment, we should be able to hide it without deleting the category to keep the items there and not have to rebuild the menu items if they come back in the future.
