Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Guest screen should have equipment to be able to pivot / spin so that the customers aren't able to view what the counter is ringing in (for example, when another guest's tab is open).
    This wouldn't be necessary if we could instead choose when the guest can view the screen. For example, only view once business hit's "Pay"

  3. It would be helpful to be able to assign a different default order type to each register rather than having to choose the order type every time. For example, a drive thru register could be set to Drive Thru as a default order type to help minimize mistakes in the kitchen.

  4. Hello-

    I'm working with a Cafe that is requesting a feature to print individual item tickets to the Order Printer. IE: Ring up a Latte & Espresso. Right now they print together to the order printer. They would like the Latte to print one 1 ticket, and the Espresso to print on the next.

    For cafes this feature would be instrumental as they would be able to serve the coffees with the matching individual Order ticket, as opposed to the entire order ticket.

  5. When you make an online order, when you check out the tip function defaults to the lowest tip amount. If the customer doesn't check none, it will default to the lowest tip amount instead of None. we need that to default to None!!!!

  6. We need an option to be able to print each item from an order separately, currently now the option does exist but it puts everything on one receipt and separates each item with a line. Instead of a line we need each item printed alone. I did find an app that does allow it name Smart Print but it also has a lot of bugs.

    For the restaurant we Run there’s multiple cooking stations and i need items separately to give to those cooking stations.

  7. New Florida State Law states, Service Charge must be taxable, tips are optional to include or exclude taxes, but additional service charges needs to be taxable, please set this up for Service Charges as new state law required for the subtotal of line items sold and service charges to be taxed.

  8. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  9. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.

  10. During the entering orders quickly, if we need to cancel one and add a new item to the list, customer facing screen does not update. Deleted item does not seen on the invoice however Customer see it in his screen. Creates conflict with customers and break the trust.

  11. We need the ability to control how discounts are applied to orders. There are certain discounts that apply to food only and not alcohol. Example, Military discount as well as other promotions we may be running through various advertisements. Currently, when creating a discount there are no control options for how the discount is applied. We would like to have an option to apply it to specific item labels or revenue classes, categories, menus, or even specific items. Another example would be a coupon we send out for 15% off your meal.   12. Problem: The customer-name field in the ordering flow currently accepts letters only. I want to enable a numeric-only option (or a numeric-mode toggle) so customers can enter numeric identifiers (e.g., 1–50 digits) instead of their name. We cannot shout out customer names in the restaurant to look for them.

    Proposed change: Add a mode toggle (Name mode vs. Numeric ID mode). In Numeric ID mode, the input accepts digits 0–9 only, with validation for length (configurable, e.g., 1–50 digits). This will make bringing out food to customers table easier since they can be found by their number on top of…

  13. We are paperless and do not print receipts. The only option we want to show on the forward/customer facing kiosk is "No Receipt, Email Receipt, Text Receipt." There should be an option to customize what options we offer for receipts.

  14. On Clover order receipts, the employee name is currently bolded, while the customer name is not. This makes it difficult for staff to quickly identify which order belongs to which customer, especially during busy hours or when multiple orders are being prepared at once.

    Please update the receipt formatting so that the customer name is bolded or otherwise made more visually prominent than the employee name. This small change would improve order accuracy and efficiency in customer-facing environments.

  15. Within a modifier group allow for preselected item(s). Thus if you have a menu item that is standard with a certain type of cheese or dressing they are preselected and only need to be addressed when something other than the standard modifier is requested.

    This would simplify the process of modifying standard orders and reduce the number of modifier groups necessary for No's and substitutions.

  16. The description of the items are not the same on the frontend as they are on the backend. In the backend, I enter them in three separate lines. However, they are joined together as a single line on the frontend. Proper formatting needs to be done. This is not an idea or a feature request, but something that should be done.

  17. the merchant request the tables or orders number/type to be displayed on the clover go app under orders the section than having the clover id - the merchant advises it doesn't make sense to have the clover id, its best to have the order number, or the section of the clover dining app that describes what table the customer is sitting on

  18. Scenario for counter service restaurant: You have multiple guests ordering under one ticket at the counter but when using the register app, order items are unable to be assigned by the respective guests, this causes confusion at the kitchen because order ticket appears to be telling the kitchen staff that there’s one guest placing these multiple orders. My merchant is asking for the option to go into the register app and have the ability to/ function to organize an order ticket by guest identically to how Clover Dining does it.   19. When in the restaurant, it's easy to see all open orders. On the dashboard, there is no way to filter on open orders, forcing me to scroll through hundreds of orders to find those that haven't yet been paid.

  20. It would be beneficial to have an option to add order notes to an order after hitting pay in the Register App. This would allow merchants to go in and add a note while taking payment for an order, eliminating order bottlenecking for high velocity businesses (like counter service restaurants).
