Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum. You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software.   2. Right now Clover does not allow you to set a max limit of a quanity for a modifer, if the require max is less than the quanity of the modifers .

    For example, If you have an item of 12 Wings with the modifer of different types like (Extra Hot, Hot, Mudium, Mild, Plain , 5 different modifers) You can only set up max limit of 5 rather than 12, because their are only 5 modifers.

    Just like ordering a dozen donut, If you have 8 different types of donut (Clover only allows you to put max quality for that…

  3. The current system does not allow mixed tender types once a bill has been split four ways. We encountered a situation where four guests split a payment: three paid by credit card, and the fourth wanted to pay partly in cash and the remainder by credit card. The system prevented this and forced the final guest to choose either full cash or full credit, which is not acceptable in real-world payment scenarios.
    This limitation needs to be corrected and implemented as soon as possible.

  4. Problem: Once created, discounts are only available or must be deleted AND they can be applied to both Order and Item level. They are also often disorganized.

    Solution: Make discounts available or unavailable (optional) so we don't have to delete them and allow them to be applicable for Orders or Items only, or both. This way employees cannot accidentally apply BOGO 50% OFF item only discount to an entire order.

    Also, please give us the ability to organize discounts alphabetically or as category/groups, also allowing to display in register separately or in categories -- perhaps we can add/delete custom categories…

  5. Partial payment order Management

    Ability to running an open tab/order/check after a partial payment is applied. In a bar environment it is common to have a party of guests running a single tab/order. Some guests leave and request to apply a partial payment. Others stay and continue to add items to the existing tab/order. This option is currently not possible in Clover, but available in most competitive pos products.

  6. We have set up the DoorDash Drive Clover integration, and it works fine. But, the only tip option on the order checkout screen from the customer view is "Tips For Delivery Person". Tips go to the Dasher. The in-store employees who prepare and package the orders are not receiving any tips. Clover support was unable to assist with this.

    Is there a way to add another tip option for customers to give our employees a tip on their order?

  7. We need the ability to add a customer to an order even after it is closed. Currently, if the order is completed, we are not able link the order to a customer. So, we are missing the ability to see customer history.

  9. You can choose on "tap pay" or on "invoice print" but not on completed transaction. This make no sense. when i tap pay then the customer changes their mind i go back and change the item but the docket is already printed and the meal being prepped. Should have a print docket triggerred by on completed transaction.

  10. Is there a reason store owners aren't allowed to choose delivery without being forced to use a 3rd party? Small town Iowa business owners provide their own drivers. There should be an option for their customers to select this when ordering online.

  11. When you make an online order, when you check out the tip function defaults to the lowest tip amount. If the customer doesn't check none, it will default to the lowest tip amount instead of None. we need that to default to None!!!!

  12. New Florida State Law states, Service Charge must be taxable, tips are optional to include or exclude taxes, but additional service charges needs to be taxable, please set this up for Service Charges as new state law required for the subtotal of line items sold and service charges to be taxed.

  13. Clover has added great functionality to show pickup time for future orders on the orders screen. Open up this access to the public API so 3rd party order services can set pickup times that display on Clover.

    3rd party services are still required because Clover's tools have limited functionality such as immediately firing to kitchen printers for future orders.

  14. Ability to create a Discount Code for On-Line ordering. For example you have a promotion on social media where people get a 10% Discount on Wednesday with the Code WED10 that they would input while ordering online.

  15. During the entering orders quickly, if we need to cancel one and add a new item to the list, customer facing screen does not update. Deleted item does not seen on the invoice however Customer see it in his screen. Creates conflict with customers and break the trust.

  16. We need the ability to control how discounts are applied to orders. There are certain discounts that apply to food only and not alcohol. Example, Military discount as well as other promotions we may be running through various advertisements. Currently, when creating a discount there are no control options for how the discount is applied. We would like to have an option to apply it to specific item labels or revenue classes, categories, menus, or even specific items. Another example would be a coupon we send out for 15% off your meal.   17. Problem: The customer-name field in the ordering flow currently accepts letters only. I want to enable a numeric-only option (or a numeric-mode toggle) so customers can enter numeric identifiers (e.g., 1–50 digits) instead of their name. We cannot shout out customer names in the restaurant to look for them.

    Proposed change: Add a mode toggle (Name mode vs. Numeric ID mode). In Numeric ID mode, the input accepts digits 0–9 only, with validation for length (configurable, e.g., 1–50 digits). This will make bringing out food to customers table easier since they can be found by their number on top of…

  18. On Clover order receipts, the employee name is currently bolded, while the customer name is not. This makes it difficult for staff to quickly identify which order belongs to which customer, especially during busy hours or when multiple orders are being prepared at once.

    Please update the receipt formatting so that the customer name is bolded or otherwise made more visually prominent than the employee name. This small change would improve order accuracy and efficiency in customer-facing environments.

  19. Within a modifier group allow for preselected item(s). Thus if you have a menu item that is standard with a certain type of cheese or dressing they are preselected and only need to be addressed when something other than the standard modifier is requested.

    This would simplify the process of modifying standard orders and reduce the number of modifier groups necessary for No's and substitutions.

  20. The description of the items are not the same on the frontend as they are on the backend. In the backend, I enter them in three separate lines. However, they are joined together as a single line on the frontend. Proper formatting needs to be done. This is not an idea or a feature request, but something that should be done.
