Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

Invoice: Ideas related to Clover’s Invoicing feature.

Kitchen Management: Ideas related to KDS, Kitchen Printers, etc.

  1. It would be extremely helpful if we could define a Start & Stop time for each Day selected when configuring a Daypart.
    If a business is open until 2AM on a Monday, for example, it would be nice to be able to configure a Daypart that extends from 10pm on Monday until 2AM on Tuesday.

  2. We support a very busy bar that is concerned with preventing theft. They do over 2 million in sales a year, so preventing Bartenders & Servers from deleting an item from an order all together was considered too restrictive. Turning that option on had them ready to take Clover out the next day.

    We currently have "Edit printed items without override" turned off for Servers & Bartenders in an attempt to limit theft. Unfortunately, this prevents the Bartenders from being able to select the + on a previously ordered item when a customer orders a 2nd or 3rd round of…

  3. The ability to send to different bar printers (or not at all) depending on where the item is ordered from, or at specific times. For example on weekend nights, when a secondary bar is open, the drink order could go there for pickup by servers. Or if bartender rings in a drink it doesn't need to print at either bar, and risk being made twice

  4. Printing each individual qr code at a terminal and then scanning them in to a computer to put them on a fancier style seated menu is tedious and relentless work. Others have a native funciton that allows me to download the qr codes themselves as images. this should be a thing. i have 8 veneus and have had to do this 8 times, i will be opening 8 more and to be honest it is sort of a deal breaker not having it

  6. Needs real running timer showing from the table layout for an efficient operation. There are many AYCE restaurants with time limits, currently Clover Dinning app only indicates tables in red at certain preset time and servers need to click each table to check the actual running time or they need to login to web dashboard to check entire tables timer at once. I have had a few restaurants that have bars included in the restaurant, and they would like to be able to have customization options on printing seats and the layout of the menu as far as categories based upon whether the device is at the bar or the devices in the restaurant we need to be able to differentiate the layout of the menu from one device to the other and we also need to be able to decide whether or not we want smart tipping or tip at the device as opposed to tip on the receipt between the…

  8. We would like to be able to ask the customer for a name and use that as the ticket number. Instead of just calling out numbers when orders are ready, we would like to call out their name.

    The feature to add their name to the ticket currently just auto adds the name on the credit card and it's a little weird. Also we're not trying to take down all their information and add them to the system. We would just like a simple name on each order. Please and Thank you!

  9. When a server fires their order, rather than the computer closing the table out, but leaving the server logged in and on the dining room floor plan screen, we should be able to turn on a function that logs the server out entirely. When you have 8-10 servers running around and someone forgets to log out, it's easy for someone else to start ringing their order under another person's name. Servers often forget to lock the computer when they're done, so this issue is fairly common.

  10. Merchant would like to be able to change the order type in the Clover dining app. Currently, it only allows the change in the Register app. This can make the order printing process confusing as it shows both the section and order type on the order receipt.

  11. Merchant is requesting table numbers and section name on the "orders' in the ios app, when selecting the button "Orders" it doesn't show, whether its paid or open the description of clover dining isn't synced. The order ID is not useful for them they would rather have the table number and section.

  12. Enable the option to add chairs to a table layout based on their actual physical position, mirroring capabilities found in other POS systems.

    Expand the available object types and shapes for designing the restaurant layout.

    Allow the vertical orientation for table/object names within the layout view.

  13. Allow the ability to assign an existing or add a new customer to a specific guest at a table directly within the Clover Dining app, rather than only through the Register app or Customer app. Guest Naming: to assign individual names to guests seated at a table.

  14. The chef has a better understanding of which food items are available during the day. Can we please add functionality that would allow the kitchen to 86 an item from the KDS rather than going to a station/flex/mini.

  15. When Applying discounts it discounts the whole ticket. We would like to be able to apply our military discount to just the veterans meal and not the whole ticket. Please and thank you!
