Exchange policies are vital for a retail businesses, and the exchanges of items for an item of greater or lesser value is equally as vital.
In the case for lesser value:
Consumer returns to a store, and requests to exchange an item (A), for item (B). Item A is $200, and Item B is $100.
At the point where the merchant is selecting items for the exchange, in the event the merchant selects an item of lesser value and no more; the merchant can either:
1. Issue a store credit/gift card for the remainder.
2. Offer cash back to the customer (Setting).
3. Select more options until equal or greater.
In the event the exchange is for an item(s) of greater value, the prompts continue into the payment screen where the merchant or customer can select the payment method.
