Ability to Void transactions
Merchant wants to have the ability to void transactions if the transaction is not closed. Merchant wants to void hours after the transaction was taken to prevent refunding.
Hello,
This will be available in a future release.
Thanks,
Clover Product

A 25 minute time limit is way to short of a time especially with recurring payments to reconcile Clover transactions with our internal systems. Issuing refunds is not good for customer satisfaction. Payeezy had this functionality and it was great!

This request is 4 years old and still hasn't been fixed!!! There is no logical reason to limit a VOID to 25 minutes. Most issues that require a VOID don't pop up for sometimes hours not minutes! I have dealt with multiple processors and platforms including FIserv and have never had a time restriction on a VOID earlier than the point where the transaction is batched out! The only response is a year and a half old and only claims it's planned??? This is the kind of stuff that makes people look for better options!

A refund is not the same thing as a void or complimentary item. Please allow us to clearly distinguish between a void and a comp, and provide the functionality anytime before a batch closes. That is the logical way to handle this. i don't even understand why you have this reporting function of items that were added but then removed, I mean who cares about that, what matters is knowing what is in our inventory.

I can't believe we can't void orders, why does Clover decide when we can void an order and when we can't, and why don't they get the point of voids???

Yes, we need the flexibility to control our inventory better. A VOID means that the items did not go out of inventory, so this will be properly communicated with our inventory management system. If we just do a refund, but can't VOID the items, our inventory will assume these items have been consumed and so they will leave inventory even if that is not the case. There should be a clear and easy way to treat a transaction as either a VOID or a COMP.
VOID - item DOES NOT leave inventory
COMP - item leaves inventory
Refund - money is returned (this has nothing to do with inventory like a void or a comp, this only has to do with the monetary part of the transaction) -

When is Clover going to add a VOID button so that a transaction can be voided anytime before the batch closes? Just like every cc machine that has ever existed.

This is VERY important. Clover, please consider this request. First Data's own cc machines like the FD130 can do this. Right now, the Clover only lets a merchant void the transaction right after taking the sale. They have to press the VOID button before pressing the DONE button. If they don't do that, they have to go to the TRANSACTIONS app and click on the transaction and then click the REFUND button. It seems if they do this within 15 minutes of the original sale, it actually treats it like a void. But if they do this hours later, but before they batch closeout at the end of the day, it will only refund.
Merchants all expect to be able to VOID a sale anytime during the day as long as the batch has not been closed out yet.
