Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. When making online orders (as a customer), order items get saved to the history. But the order changes. An example - from a local taqueria:
    - Bean and cheese burrito
    - Add guacamole
    - No salsa fresca
    - Bean and rice burrito
    - Add guacamole
    - No salsa fresca
    - Carne Asada Burrito
    - Add guacamole

    becomes

    • Bean and cheese burrito
    • Add guacamole x3
    • No salsa fresca x2
    • Bean and rice burrito
    • Carne asada burrito

    This makes it impossible to simply reorder. It would be helpful if the items stayed the way they were ordered. (I do appreciate them being…

  2. Merchant is requesting the old update for clover dining because the employees are ot seeing their name on the tables , when merchant make the table bigger we can see the employee name but because merchant have a big restaurant and a lot of tables we are not able to keep all the tables at a big size .
    please allow the employee name to show on smaller table sizes like it use to

  3. We operate a Foodtruck at multiple locations. When customers are scheduling orders for a particular day and time, there needs to be a dropdown that allows them to select a location for picking up their food. Currently, the system defaults to "In-Store Pickup" and that confuses customers because our "Home Business" location is not where we serve from.

  4. Adding order numbers to COLO would make it easier for customers to pick up their orders rather than searching by name.

  5. COLO - merchant operates from 11:30pm to 3:30am, COLO doesnt allow the merchant to set the end time for 3:30am, a message appears saying
    "End time cannot be earlier than start time", can something be implemented where merchants have total control of the operational hours at this time changing the hours for the time frame could be the a workaround but that creating an extra tasks for the merchant at the end of the day

  6. Merchant would like to be able to change the colors on the business logo that appears on the Clover Online Ordering. At this time all logos for Clover Online Ordering show as grey.

  8. should be able to increase prices on everything including group modifiers and not just on items,
    also be able to duplicate online menue across locations

  9. Currently, customers with international phone numbers cannot pay for their order when checking out in Clover Online Ordering. This is especially frustrating when you use the Clover Dining Table QR Codes. They put in their order, get all the way to end to pay, and it stops them, and they have to repeat entire order to a person. Please support international phone numbers for Clover Online Ordering or give us the ability to NOT require phone numbers.

  10. Online Ordering should have a collapse layout or some other layout options for a more intuitive end-user (customer) experience. if you look 1 of my siteshttps://paradisesmoothiejuicebar.com/mableton-order-online customers select smoothie then Berry White (ex.) they have to scroll vs there being a collapsed or tabbed option they can see more and make the ordering process more intuitive and less friction. As a developer I have to program in usability that make the experience even more challenging. Please advise?

  11. Currently the tip Name for online ordering is the Merchants name. As you may know legally the owner can not take the tips for themselves. So for the tips left on the online ordering, it should have an option to change the name to the employee or host that is taking care of the In store pickup not the owners name. Please add the option to change the name for online ordering tips.

  12. There should be a separate option from online hours. Delivery hours should be different than clover website pickup hours.

  14. We should get a ringtone when a COLO order comes up, that way in case we're not nearby the device, we can see when an Online Order is processed.

  15. Ability to have online ordering open but restrict pickup windows to different days (Toast has this).

    Example scenario: We are a BBQ restaurant that is open 4 days a week and we sell out. We want to give customers the option to pre-order at any time and schedule pick-up the following week. "Order by Sunday at mid-night and pickup next week Thursday - Sunday"

  17. Customers buy Clover gift cards and would like the ability to order online and use that tender type. if that is not an option can business owners have the ability to accept online orders and have the option to pay at the store when they pick up

  20. When an online order comes in with a note that says "extra bacon" instead of being added as a modifier that adds price in the transaction, merchants would like to have the option of editing or adding (items, modifiers) to the same transaction, in order to obtain and charge the real price.
