Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. When making online orders (as a customer), order items get saved to the history. But the order changes. An example - from a local taqueria:
    - Bean and cheese burrito
    - Add guacamole
    - No salsa fresca
    - Bean and rice burrito
    - Add guacamole
    - No salsa fresca
    - Carne Asada Burrito
    - Add guacamole

    becomes

    • Bean and cheese burrito
    • Add guacamole x3
    • No salsa fresca x2
    • Bean and rice burrito
    • Carne asada burrito

    This makes it impossible to simply reorder. It would be helpful if the items stayed the way they were ordered. (I do appreciate them being…

  2. Merchant is requesting the old update for clover dining because the employees are ot seeing their name on the tables , when merchant make the table bigger we can see the employee name but because merchant have a big restaurant and a lot of tables we are not able to keep all the tables at a big size .
    please allow the employee name to show on smaller table sizes like it use to

  3. In the orders app you can view all orders open or closed. When you click on an order you have a couple of options you can do. You can add a payment, re-open the order, combine the order with another one, etc.

    It would be an excellent feature if we could DUPLICATE AN ORDER here as well. For example, some of my merchants will have huge orders that get placed on a monthly basis so it would be nice if they can pull up the customers previous order and simply duplicate it so they dont have re enter the order…

  4. We operate a Foodtruck at multiple locations. When customers are scheduling orders for a particular day and time, there needs to be a dropdown that allows them to select a location for picking up their food. Currently, the system defaults to "In-Store Pickup" and that confuses customers because our "Home Business" location is not where we serve from.

  5. Adding order numbers to COLO would make it easier for customers to pick up their orders rather than searching by name.

  7. We would like the ability to hide specific categories. There are categories I would like available on pos but not online

  8. There should be a separate option from online hours. Delivery hours should be different than clover website pickup hours.

  9. Clover Online Ordering should have the ability to schedule business closure dates on future dates for Holidays, etc. This would help prevent merchants from forgetting to turn off online ordering and having orders come in while the business is closed for holidays.

  10. We should get a ringtone when a COLO order comes up, that way in case we're not nearby the device, we can see when an Online Order is processed.

  11. Please add a feature for customers to pre-order by a specific time that is more than 90 minutes. We require pre-orders a day in advance (due to production time). So a feature saying customers MUST order by a certain time/date would be required for us to utilize online ordering. And, having a requested pick-up time option would also be great.

  12. When you're taking an address for a delivery order. And you would have to enter everything like zip code, states, city, etc... You should add google maps or Apple maps in the system where once you start typing the address, it starts to show up then once you click the address you want, then it applies the address, city, states, zip code without typing the whole address.

  13. Ability to have online ordering open but restrict pickup windows to different days (Toast has this).

    Example scenario: We are a BBQ restaurant that is open 4 days a week and we sell out. We want to give customers the option to pre-order at any time and schedule pick-up the following week. "Order by Sunday at mid-night and pickup next week Thursday - Sunday"

  15. Customers buy Clover gift cards and would like the ability to order online and use that tender type. if that is not an option can business owners have the ability to accept online orders and have the option to pay at the store when they pick up

  17. Online ordering with clover only has the options for Pick-up, Curbside Pickup, Delivery and Dine in. A custom order type would be amazing so we can customize an order type the way we can do it for the clover stations! For example having a Sitting at Woodrow’s order type.

  19. When an online order comes in with a note that says "extra bacon" instead of being added as a modifier that adds price in the transaction, merchants would like to have the option of editing or adding (items, modifiers) to the same transaction, in order to obtain and charge the real price.

  20. The system should allow customers who order through someones COLO site to Opt In to marketing from the merchant. This should add that information to the Customers app on Clover.
