Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

Merchant is requesting the old update for clover dining because the employees are ot seeing their name on the tables , when merchant make the table bigger we can see the employee name but because merchant have a big restaurant and a lot of tables we are not able to keep all the tables at a big size .
    please allow the employee name to show on smaller table sizes like it use to

  2. I would like to be able to view all my items on one screen without scrolling. I would like to change the size of the buttons. right now the max display is (6x5) 30 items. Would like to be able to increase that by making the buttons smaller.

  3. In clover dining managers an/or staff should be able to move, edit, or delete credit card transactions without having to delete the entire transaction and start over.

  4. Handle case that we add/remove a modifier group from a menu item and we want to retrieve catalog changes after a specific modifiedTime. Now the above action doesn't change the modifiedTime to items/modifierGroups. So if we want to track catalog changes after a specific date we have to fetch all modifierGroups and their items, and check if an item has been added/removed.

  5. Currently we can set a specific set up charge on a modifier,
    Can we make that a variable so that the server or manager or who ever can decide the cost of the extra

  6. order of items:
    I think that it would be great if we were able to “rearrange” the order and placement of the “menu items” when you are on the “register app”.
    i find that this is a big issue.
    as you enter new items into inventory, they get placed at the BOTTOM of the menu list…but if this new item is a big seller and the button gets used a lot, i would like to be able to drag it to the top of the screen so i don’t have to scroll down or search for it.

  7. We sell sample boxes of items that we have in inventory. I want to create a modifier where I can select items from my inventory menu so i can properly track inventory.

  10. Allow for bulk unchecking in the inventory app. I have THOUSANDS of items in my inventory. If I want to sell a select few items online/app i would have to individually uncheck everything i dont want. You should be able to "bulk" uncheck "online" and "POS".

  11. Thank you for adding, "Scheduled Orders". I was waiting for this. But there are some dishes that require 24 hour notice to make. While the customer is on the webpage placing an order, if they select an item that would need 24 hour notice, the customer NOW has the option to pick "Food Preparation Time" in my case is 30 Min. verses only "Scheduled Orders". If us the user can deselect that feature, it would be great. Now, if the customer was to pick a dish that is "Food Preparation Time" and a dish that is a "Scheduled Orders", the…

  12. Recently the Inventory functionality for individual locations was updated and design improved, adding check boxes for online store visibility for items, and online names being different from pos names. This feature desperately need to be the same in Multi-locations Inventory, as I'm finding myself now having to adjust each location individually. The whole point of Multi-location inventory is to make it easy to manage multiple locations with ease. Please update this inventory function to match.

  13. Our restaurant offers food, coffee, and fresh baked pastry and we would like to be able to choose the time it will take us to prepare since a coffee may take 5 minutes, but a salad or sandwich could take up to 20 or more. So rather than selecting a general time for orders to be ready, we would like to choose the time based on the order.

  14. My cashier does only that while my employees are paid by commissions, they can't wait to enter their code for the cashier.
    They get paid by commissions and tips, my cashiers are humans and makes many mistakes, on payday it's **** for commissions reports

  15. When creating an item, there should be a drop down menu that allows a revenue stream to be added to said item. This saves time and effort while allowing the optimization of inventory management / analytics.

  17. We operate a Foodtruck at multiple locations. When customers are scheduling orders for a particular day and time, there needs to be a dropdown that allows them to select a location for picking up their food. Currently, the system defaults to "In-Store Pickup" and that confuses customers because our "Home Business" location is not where we serve from.

  19. I sell many products from my remote location but can't add the orders to the Clover. Also ties up the Clover on large purchases when other customers are waiting.
