Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Merchant would like to load the entire inventory items page on the Web Dashboard instead of having to click the "load more" link at the bottom of the page to show more items.

  2. The URL's on Clover receipts are so bad. I run into vendors so often that have HTTPS://WWW.NONE.COM/ -- why bother displaying that?!

    Why bother displaying HTTPS://WWW or the slash at the end of the URL?

    Can't it just be "restaurant.ca" or "RESTAURANT.CA" instead of HTTPS://WWW.RESTAURANT.CA/"?

    I've even seen receipts where the URL is split across two lines like this:

    "HTTPS://SOMETHINGCOFFEE.COM
    /"

    There's gotta be a better way. The HTTPS is not essential. The WWW is only essential in RARE situations, as the browser will almost always attempt to add the www if browsing to the TLD doesn't work.…

  3. It would be great if there is an option to integrate ipad or android tablet to take orders via Clover Dining App. Currently we are using Clover Flex as mobile device to take the orders. Clover flex screen size is small and searching items is really frustrating during busy lunch and dining times. While we continue to use to Clover for payment processing etc, it will be great if we either get a bigger screen mobile device or an app to install in our own ipad or android device just to take orders

  5. In the inventory screen, it has Price and Cost. There should be a Gross Profit option to see what the mark up is.

  6. I would like to zero out “on hand” quantities of ALL inventory in order to do a physical inventory of the store. This would allow us to see what items are still at zero after the inventory. We can then decide to delete items no longer carried at the store. We carry 2-3 thousand skus and dead inventory builds up. Maybe have a dead inventory or slow moving inventory report.

  7. Clover Dashboard > Employee's> Add New Employee this form asks all the requisites and information of the employee's but it does not display on the reporting> employee's report of the hourly wages and transferred estimated wages from homebase.

  8. We need to be able to click on each item and get a report on who purchased it. As there can be recalls on items. We also need to be able to see when we added and subtracted inventory. When adding in inventory there is no way that I can find that we can see when we added in new inventory therefore lots of mistakes can be made. We have invoices with 50 items or more and the phone rings, customers come we need to be able to check and besure we added the item and that we didn't double…

  9. I have a client with over 240 locations, and they need to add a Manager with access to each instance of the Dashboard. I was told by numerous resources that the only way to achieve this is for the client to add the Manager, one by one, to each individual MID. There needs to be a way to perform this function at a high level and have it cascade down to each MID in the hierarchy so the client only has to do it one time. If we are trying to sell Clover up-market, we need more efficient management functionality…

  10. Assign tickets to the person who originally started the ticket regardless of who runs the credit card at cash out. That way a manager can help cash out customers without worrying about who the tip will be assigned to.

  11. Clover needs to have the ability to set up Inventory Price Scheduling.
    Many Hospitality/Retail locations will charge different item prices depending on time of day.

    Inventory should have a base Price and then Price level 1, level 2, level 3. etc.
    "Events" or Schedules can be set to use a specific Price level changing all item pricing to that level during that time period.

    Many merchants do not like having Happy Hour displayed as discounts as that adds to confusion on the ordering and customer receipt side, they want the item price changed for that event/time period only. Many Hospitality…

  12. Our POS Clover is integrated with GrubHub & Doordash. Any menu updates we do gets instantly updated in Doordash but it takes several hours to update in GrubHub system. This creates confusion among Customers on seeing different menu in different online ordering services. Also in the case of removing an item during business hours, customer can still select that item and place an order from GrubHub, but the order end up getting canceled because in POS the item is removed but GrubHub it is still showing up.   13. Any Admin listed should be able to see and access the Disputes tab on the Dashboard. As of now only the owner can see it.

  14. When i create Items with variants and use export import to my other locations
    they transfer as normal items not as they created as a variant item
    also when u need to update name on a variant item u cannot
    you need to delete it and create it all over again as the name section is dimmed
    please help

  15. Clover register needs scanned items counting numbers. So cashier can see how many items were scanned total before checkout.

  16. Merchants that manually settle need the ability to delete the batch if they forget to settle for days or weeks on end. this will prevent additional interchange fees due to late presentment and unnecessary chargebacks

  17. Items like services do not need to be counted as inventory, only the sales need to be tracked. It would be really handy to be able to mark items as Non-Inventory (all the same functions for price, cost, etc as usual) and still have them as a sellable item. Services are not inventory!

  18. Customer accounts should be able to be tagged as Tax Exempt so that we don't have to be reminded every time we ring a particular customer up - especially when we are selling to companies and schools with an exemption.

  19. It would be good to not allow duplicate items to be keyed into the hardware.
    I spend a lot of time editing existing clover inventory/menu export lists.
    Clover allows merchants to key in duplicate items form the hardware but you cannot import this inventory list into another location because you will get an error.

  20. Managers and up should be allowed to change the customer after an order is placed without having to refund the order. Sometimes orders are processed under the wrong name, we shouldn't have to perform a refund and then process the order again to change the customer.
