Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. EASY =) When a selected modifier on an item is deselected and changed, keep that modifier in the order it was originally, instead of moving it to bottom of the modifier list for that item on the order ticket in kitchen.

    We lost a 3 location burger restaurant because, for ex, if their customer changed from medium to well done, it would move “well done” to the bottom of the modifier list

  2. When refunding online order through a device it puts the order status to "Pending"/"Open". After refunding online order this should enter a close status. Only way for merchants to correct is to go through Dashboard and "Delete" order as they cannot delete from device.

  3. The need to remove the "other" button on the item selection screen is very needed. We are very regulated by the state and if someone were to use this option it would be a big violation.

  4. The new upgraded version is too cumbersome. I like the old version so much better. Is there a way to go back to the old version especially in the inventory section. You have way too many clicks to do what is needed than the old version. The old version everything you need to do is on one screen and not having to click to open areas to add categories, item stock, etc. Can we have an option to go back please?

  8. If the prices of items are in Modifiers then the Clover Go, app does not recognize it.
    and gives us 0 . So the Modifier in Clover go app doesn't work which is very important for the application

  9. When using the inventory or reporting functions, I would like to be able to expand the view horizontally to see more of the details of the items. As well, I would like to be able to see all of the items in the list without clicking on "see more" over and over again.

  10. I have franchise restaurants with multiple locations. With Clover Online ordering, it doesn't support location selections. Also Clover banner should be removed from online ordering. Just like Square, they have paid version vs free version, with paid version banner is removed. Clover need to implement these features for Franchise business.

  11. The order receipt that is printed to the kitchen is confusing staff who had just switched from an older system and they are confused because the items come in as they were entered chronologically. Instead, we juts need a simple feature to "Group Categories".

    For example, Sandwiches, Sides, Etc.

    Right now, line items:

    1 Sandwich
    1 Fries
    1 Dessert
    1 Sandwich
    and so on..

  12. Merchants need the ability to have nicknames for locations when they have multiple locations on the dashboard without affecting the name that prints out on the receipt, that would make it easier to toggle between locations instead of having to make checks to ensure merchants are accessing the correct account

  13. Register APP - consumer returns item purchased : merchant processes refund, exchange or partial exchange and balance owing in the form of "instore credit" Receipt printed fails to show balance owing when issuing partial exchange for another item - receipt does not list the balance owing
    Also same idea , with split payment balance owing not shown on receipt. Clover REGISTER APP requires update to correct issue

  14. Online Orders (especially form integrations) should be updating the Inventory stock count. All the correct items are received by Clover POS, but their quantities sold do not deduct from the Inventory stock count.

  15. merchant employee's are able to see the day's total sale amount after logging out of the admin account
    merchant is stating that the device didn't previously show the total sale amount on the employee screen/ merchant has the permissions removed from the employee's permission but they are still able to see the closeout on the screen it comes and it goes after logging out of the admins account
    uploaded screenshots of it showing and then disappearing on the employee account I did recommend to closeout out of the application. Tier 3 advised to submit enhancement request since is no permission…

  16. Please allow medical industry professionals to switch and change their subscription plan to be able to keep track of taxes and service fees as certain providers sell glasses and other items that need to be taxed.

    Business owners are switching to other merchant services companies that allow for the taxation of their services and the items they sell.

  18. Online Ordering: Ability to turn off "+ Special Instructions". Currently we must allow customers to add special instructions to each item they order. Customers consistently place charge items in the field such as "Add Cheese" or "Add Grilled Onions". We need to be able to disable this action if we want to.

  19. looking for itemized bill with order and customer info to automatically print on open cash orders both to go and delivery
    currently have to re-open order to print itemized bill on all open orders which is not very efficient at peak business hours

  20. Merchant wanted to auto print the bill receipt when He Saves an order. Manually printing the bill takes a lot of steps and he would like it to be more simple.
