There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

  1. Please allow the # of Automatic Retries on a failed Recurring Transaction to be configurable and not automatically try 5 times. Additionally, to be sure and not notify the recipient that their card failed each retry.

  2. On an order with split payments, ie $20 bill:
    paid via $5 cash and $15 gift card…
    The customer’s receipt DOES NOT show both payments… you have to print two receipts, one for each payment… that’s crazy! can you escalate to the software team? please and thanks!”
    This is a direct merchant request, 4-lane, clover DUO nursery business (high volume)

  3. If combining two orders that each have a discount attached Clover seems to drop one of the discounts. Would be nice if it combined both orders with both applied discounts.

  4. I know that there are other posts for void alerts, this goes one step further, this would allow owner's/managers to specify the number of voids or refunds that a specific passcode and email address can process without additional approval and or alerts going to the primary email address.

  5. Geo fencing of refunds would prevent refunds from being processed off of the grounds of the business if the they have the flex. this would prevent someone who took the device from the location from processing refunds.

  6. Is there anyway to setup a minimum payment threshold to be input via the clover devices. We wanted something like $30. If the sale is below $30, it won’t allow the bartender to go further in the sale screen. I see something for max threshold but not minimum

  8. If a customer pays with cash and the amount tendered is entered, please make the pay button green. It is consistent with the rest of the app. It also makes it easier for the employee to quickly press the correct button. I find my employees hesitate because they are used to the button being green to proceed.

  10. The barcode scanner seems to be broken on the TIPS app. Lots of customers use this so it would be awesome if it worked again.

  11. With Payeezy we were able to void transactions until the daily batch closing. With Clover we only have a matter of minutes. This is unacceptable in a real business.

  12. Partial Payments no way to know that there was a partial payment and no screen is prompted asking for the next payment. When a partial payment is made it says "Payment Successful" it should instead prompt a screen for the remainder balance.

  13. I have to print all the transactions and the letters are very small and the name of the customer does not show at the top like it used to be

  16. The tipping app suggests the tip on the total amount purchased. It should be seperated as you don’t tip on products, but only services.

    i.e. Joe schmoe had a service of $100, but purchased $200 worth of product. The suggested tip should be on the service amount of $100 only vs the total of $300 plus tax. The client should not have to pull out their calculator to figure out the tip amount on the service.

  17. Offer ACH in virtual terminal to Omaha merchants. Many merchants want ACH options and we have to place them with a different gateway because Clover has not rolled out ACH in virtual terminal for Omaha merchants.

  18. Merchants on Omaha do not have the capabilities to offer scan and pay with the QR code on their receipts. We have so many merchants wanting this feature and it's hard to explain we cant add due to the platform when our merchants go to other establishments that have Clover and they are paying with scan and pay at another business with a feature they can't offer to their customers. If I add Nashville front-end to an Omaha merchant will the scan and pay feature be enabled?

  19. Merchant wants to remove requirement for zip code on manual transactions and refunds on station devices since it does not ask for this information on flex or mini devices.

  20. Controls for maximum Transaction allowed by Empoyee. Also a maximum tip amount based on % of transaction amount. Neeed for Taxi Industry.
