Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. As a 3rd party developer, I want to control the time and date when a scheduled order reaches as a notification to the clover device and manage printing the order receipt to the kitchen at a given time so that the scheduled order is served

  3. Recently the Inventory functionality for individual locations was updated and design improved, adding check boxes for online store visibility for items, and online names being different from pos names. This feature desperately need to be the same in Multi-locations Inventory, as I'm finding myself now having to adjust each location individually. The whole point of Multi-location inventory is to make it easy to manage multiple locations with ease. Please update this inventory function to match.

  4. Every item in Inventory should have a simple checkbox to specify whether it is available for online ordering or not. Not all items in inventory are necessarily available for online ordering so there should be an option to include or exclude them from the online menu.

  5. We would like to edit item description on an order after the order is complete. Once in a while employee makes an error. At least Admin should be able to fix errors.

  7. Business can have 10 waiters and 5 order types. Waitress 1 enter order and it's order 1. Waitress 5 enters different order under different order type and it's order 2 and so on and so forth for all orders. No same order numbers because of order type or waitress entered etc. There should never be the same order number printing on ticket

  8. My wait staff complains that when they have a large group and they put items in that are more of something they have already put in ( eg. glass of beer) the items are added off screen and they cant be sure if they have been added or not as they cant be sure exactly how many glasses of beer there were and cant see them as they are not visible. They can be combined on guest check, but on computer screen it is much more difficult..

  11. Now there is no way from the api to retrieve the deleted modifier groups after a specific date. This is useful for Menus synchronization on demand with other systems

  15. Our restaurant offers food, coffee, and fresh baked pastry and we would like to be able to choose the time it will take us to prepare since a coffee may take 5 minutes, but a salad or sandwich could take up to 20 or more. So rather than selecting a general time for orders to be ready, we would like to choose the time based on the order.

  17. My cashier does only that while my employees are paid by commissions, they can't wait to enter their code for the cashier.
    They get paid by commissions and tips, my cashiers are humans and makes many mistakes, on payday it's **** for commissions reports

  19. we sell parts over the counter or in conjunction with other parts. you guys use food as most examples. so i will try that. if a customer comes in and buys a pizza, the modifier could be pepperoni. but that pepperoni doesn't come out of my inventory, nor do i know the "cost" of the pepperoni or how many i have. but i also sell pepperoni over the counter for the same price which IS in my inventory with "cost" associated with it. i use modifiers as so my counter help knows what goes along with what. but it screws…

  20. When creating an item, there should be a drop down menu that allows a revenue stream to be added to said item. This saves time and effort while allowing the optimization of inventory management / analytics.
