Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. ability to remain in the order when hitting print bill to pay instead of going back to the dining app screen layout. this is just an annoying extra step.

  2. dashboard on device - Will not connect on station. Several merchants would like to easily access their online dashboard on the station. Its much easier for inventory ordering.

  3. order of items:
    I think that it would be great if we were able to “rearrange” the order and placement of the “menu items” when you are on the “register app”.
    i find that this is a big issue.
    as you enter new items into inventory, they get placed at the BOTTOM of the menu list…but if this new item is a big seller and the button gets used a lot, i would like to be able to drag it to the top of the screen so i don’t have to scroll down or search for it.

  9. I know there is a system limitation for order receipts and the amount of items that can be printed. This merchant used the quantity shortcut and only has 15 line items on the order and each line item has the x32 etc option beside it. The merchant would like to have the order receipt print because even though there are 200 items on the order, they are grouped into 15 line items

When merchant create a new item on the device and try to select category to add the new items to the list that come up need to have the categories in order so merchant can find them merchant have a lot of categories and every time she add new items merchant is having a hard time adding the item to her categories because the list is not consistent

  13. Can you add the total number of items in an order, while they are entering items in a retail environment. After opening an order in the orders app, this can be seen when using the Counter Service service plan. It needs to be visible when entering the order too.

  14. Merchant would like the ability to add a percentage deduction from tip totals per employee in the shifts app to account for fees merchant has to pay for card processing.

  15. I want to be able to cashout the order of a guest and that the orders of the other guests remain open under clover Dinning. Right now it's not convenient for me, because many clients want to keep ordering but when a guest wants to leave, there is only the option to split the payment but you have to close the entire order.

  17. Please add an optional setting checkbox under "Order Types".
    "Must select order type before creating the order"
    Right now, it will default to an order type but you cannot REQUIRE the order type to be selected before moving forward with the order.
    The reason it should be an option is that not everyone would want this. The reason it should be a checkbox is that this should either be required or not. So a checkbox for this option would gray out the defaulted radio buttons currently on that screen next to each option.

  18. Hazelnut did this, why can you not figure this out? Items need to secondarily fire to the printers that we have assigned to them. The main order should print to the printer we have assigned. When someone orders food it needs to print to our expo and our kitchen. If drinks are ordered, it needs to print to our bar. If someone orders retail, it needs to print to our host stand. Having only one printer print the order without sending the items to the printers we have assigned to them makes this online ordering system worthless.

  19. Merchant is looking for the inventory to have items that can have modifiers with separate SKUS that will allow each variation of the item to be tracked. Example: (Category- Rings) (Item- Diamond / Ruby/ Emerald ) (Modifiers with individual SkUs )
