Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. This new update is GARBAGE. It is not user friendly at all. This is so terrible its added more time and steps on to an simple task. You now need to budget in 20 extra minutes just to add in any inventory. And forget about trying to quickly look up inventory how you used to. TALK ABOUT A HEADACHE. there are so many thins that happen in a day for retail/business owners that having to add extra steps to your simple task should not be one of them.   2. It would be nice and would certainly save merchants loads of time, if when adding Stock (scanning in barcodes) that the stock quantities do the addition for them. Or at least there be an option of either ADD or SWAP the new stock quantities. This type of option exists in another software program that I work with and would be beneficial and a smart addition to the programming. Thanks for considering this.

  3. Merchant would like a way to apply discounts to COLO orders the way they can on the device. The merchant has a promotion running that they can use on the device but online orders have no way of taking advantage of the discount

  6. Merchant requests an inventory control feature for COLO so when they are out of a particular item it automatically stops letting people order it, so there is no overlap from the time they sell out to the time they uncheck it as current offering.

  7. Currently the register permission "delete an item from an order" restricts the employee from deleting an item both before it is fired and after it is fired. We need the ability to allow an item to be deleted before it is fired and restrict the item from being deleted after it is fired.

  8. Merchant wants the option to be able to assign Categories to labels. When creating a custom item under the category, their custom items that are created are not being printed unless they add it to the inventory and apply it to a label afterwards when the print option is set to fire labels.

  9. Merchant request that the Clover devices should show a time stamp of when an order was printed out originally. Not just on the physical copy of the receipt.

  12. using the Station Duo one can enter an order and select "order type" example DINE IN, TAKE OUT and DELIVERY. However this selection "order type" is not available using the Clover Flex. Whatever "default" is selected (dine in , delivery, take out) in DASHBOARD is only type that shows up in Clover Flex. Order type should be allowed to be shown on Clover Flex; its only logical , otherwise the kitchen doesn't know type of order being prepared, if Clover Flex is used to enter order.

  13. When customers move from one table to another after the order has been printed it would be very useful if an automated note went to the kitchen to let them know. This will stop food going to the wrong table, customers giving out to floor staff and in some instances people eating the wrong food

  14. The menu will only go one level deep. For a full service restaurant with a full bar, they have to have too many tabs because the menu won't go more than one level. They have to have a menu option for each type of liquor in order to list the corresponding cocktails and liquors rather than selecting liquor, then the type, then the ******** ordered.

  15. I am unable to track my inventory because you do not allow partial quantities. As a result I cannot track my inventory - please add, this is a simple functionality in place by all the competition.

  16. Busy restaurants make mistakes and often close the wrong sale and the server forgets to filter the sale and then accidentally closes the wrong sale. Can there be a way for a server to log in and ONLY see their sales/orders? This is a MUST for FSR's. They do not want to comingle orders with other servers. This eliminates mistakes overall.. a dollar amount can easily match another open table. Please advise!

  17. Allow for bulk unchecking in the inventory app. I have THOUSANDS of items in my inventory. If I want to sell a select few items online/app i would have to individually uncheck everything i dont want. You should be able to "bulk" uncheck "online" and "POS".

  18. Thank you for adding, "Scheduled Orders". I was waiting for this. But there are some dishes that require 24 hour notice to make. While the customer is on the webpage placing an order, if they select an item that would need 24 hour notice, the customer NOW has the option to pick "Food Preparation Time" in my case is 30 Min. verses only "Scheduled Orders". If us the user can deselect that feature, it would be great. Now, if the customer was to pick a dish that is "Food Preparation Time" and a dish that is a "Scheduled Orders", the…
