Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. PLEASE add another layer in the inventory app. Currently we have Categories and Items. We desperately need another layer in the inventory app such as Department or Subcategory. This will also greatly help us with our inventory app functionality. We have to constantly manipulate the system to make it work for our store.

  2. It would be helpful to have a separate pricing option for the COLO platform so that the cost of to go supplies can be passed onto our online ordering customers and not our dine in customers. This is especially helpful now that the cost of to go supplies are in short supply due to COVID.

  3. The ability to hide specific categories on a per-device basis.
    An example would be for a Flex device that is taken off-site for off-site catering where a different menu is utilized.
    This would make it where we can make items and categories for dine-in and items and categories for off-site and removing the ability for staff to use items that they aren't supposed to use.

  4. In the Clover Dining App, on the Bar and More tab... each tab can show the customer name, but it is valuable to also show the employee/server name here. This is valuable for bars that have multiple bar tenders, multiple bars and for called in to-go orders.

  6. When a customer orders a custom drink, and wants to order the same drink again, have a "repeat button", so you dont have to put it custom order again. Would love this is Clover Dining

  8. we do a lot of custom orders that require a deposit. then have customers come and add more stuff to the order and we can not add anything else to the order once a payment has been processed. we have to make an additional order for the same customer. then bill them out on multiple invoices. i need to add items after a partial payment has been received to eliminate the customer having to swipe his CC multiple times for different orders on the same job.

  10. Merchant requests an inventory control feature for COLO so when they are out of a particular item it automatically stops letting people order it, so there is no overlap from the time they sell out to the time they uncheck it as current offering.

  13. Currently on the Mini Itemized merchant receipts are not possible. However on the clover station itemized merchant receipts are possible. Would like to request this to be the same on the clover mini as well.

  20. It would be great to have fields added to the clover excel import sheet that can express the relationships between items with variants.

    Currently, if "Items with Variants" are added to an inventory, that inventory cannot be exported and then re-imported back during an inventory audit process. The "items with variant" relationship between multiple items cannot be expressed with the current Excel import model.
