Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Could someone please fix it so that one can enter the information one wants and not from right to left.

    For example:
    $0.00 is what appears in the fields
    If you start typing from the last zero, you have no issue.
    If you type from anywhere else, it is not exactly what you need to display.
    Sometimes to avoid the annoyance I have to copy the number in full and then paste it over to Clover

    Leave the fields blank so that one can enter what they need to without issue.

  2. In clover dining app there are no restrictions for employees to remove the automatic Additional Charges from an order. There should be a permission where Only admins are allowed to remove additional service charge or have manager/admin passcode approval to remove additional charges on dine-in sections only. There should be a permission approval.

    Currently there is an Operational Loss when customer is paying cash, the employee gives the bill to the customer, and customer pays in cash, some servers/employees found a loophole to remove the auto gratuity service charge in the Clover Dining app since there are no restrictions in…

  3. Enhancement to "Create a branded website" tab/process.
    Services Growth Tier has ability to take payment/deposit online. First time merchant (who is used to card present instore) may not be familiar aware of option to take payment online as part of appointment process. That option for setup is under the primary view settings -> Services and Appointments section for Appointment Booking. I think there would be a benefit to have reference and link to the Appointment Booking section from the Create Branded Website page. I think having reference to Fraud Filters/Fraud Setup there would be beneficial as well.

  4. We should be able to set the same customer facing business name (the one that appears on receipts) for all of our facilities and differentiate the internal account name (what we look at when selecting which of our accounts we want to update). When you go to Zara, it says Zara on the receipt no matter which location you go to. There are no other details regarding location, etc.

  5. Sample Real Life Case: Merchant only has the Clover Go app on mobile to process payments. Merchant is currently using inventory through the Clover Go app on mobile. Merchant purchases a Clover Compact, which is provisioned to the Clover account. All but the Payments SaaS plan are removed leaving the merchant unable to use the inventory features. Please fix!

  6. The information should display the banking information actually being used.

    I had merchants being billed to an old bank account that is different from what is displayed. This was not a sync issue since it had been going on for months.

  7. Restore lost functionality to inventory screens.
    The columns in categories does not hold changes made top which columns are displayed, even if you click "save"
    Next time your in the screen they have reverted back to default.
    Why even have a "In Stock" column when what you need is "stock Count"
    I waist too much time changing these back to what I need, every time go go into the category inventory screens.
    The columns used to stay put until the most resent update when a lot functionality went away, including being able to scan a UPC or enter an items…

  8. When an item has been upgraded or exchanged on an open order, the original must be deleted and the new item added. This still shows the item on the removed items report, but since it was an exchange or upgrade, then it doesn't reflect the transaction properly.

  9. For the Clover Subscription "Growth Retail" we need the option to include delivery so products can be shipped to the customer's location instead being picked up at the location. Similar to xxxxx eCommerce delivery.

  10. When an invoice is paid, the owner of the account receives an email notifying them that the payment has been made. However, it would be nice if the owner could add a second person's email address (like the accountant).

  12. Team, The new dashboard version removed adding inventory with decimal places. I buy and sell an item that is by weight and not in exact whole numbers. Please allow adding and removing inventory with decimal places.

  13. I would like a way to price items including tax. My example is I charge $4.50 for an item "including tax". Our sales tax is 6%. If I set the price for 4.24 w/.25 tax, it comes to 4.49. If I set price for 4.25 w/.26, tax it comes to 4.51. Is there a way to do that or possibly in the future? Thanks!

  14. Clover Dashboard settings should be mirrored on the Clover Devices.

    An admin should be able to make changes to all device settings from the device or from the dashboard.

    You should not have to log into the dashboard to make device setting change.

  16. Add back the ability to add/edit/remove Discount option on the website version in settings. I noticed it was removed after the update, it was very helpful having that option when I can not be at the location to adjust things.

  17. Clover dashboard asks for "full name" and "nickname" and states directly underneath that line that the "nicknames will be printed on receipts," but that isn't the case. To protect our staff we need the Nicknames function to actually work.

  18. I have a problem with KDS and the clover Kiosk
    First the KDS have an issue that if we adjust the size of the text to large or largest we lose the word takeout and dine in with the kiosk orders and it shows just like this ex; (Kiosk..) and the only way to fix it by keep the text on the small witch is hard to see and we are facing the same issue with the due orders so we have dine in and to go order type on the Due, and on the KDS does not show the…

  19. I am needing to be able to turn the printer option off when each order comes through online. I don't need each order printed since to me that is a waste of paper and for my business we look each order up in our system. We don't need the paper version printed. (i'm not a restaurant)

    Also, I don't need to allow customers to schedule a pickup time/day. Is there a way to hide that feature or turn it off?

  20. Ability to have QR Code that a customer can pay and add tip. For example, a ice cream stand that doesn't want Clover devices but wants to be able to accept cc by the customer scanning qr code and an employee will tell them what is owed, the customer then pays with Apple Pay or Google and it prompts for payment with tip.
