Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

  1. I would like to have the ability to only show our Breakfast Category during our breakfast hours that are from 6am-12pm on our POS. Currently there is no way of doing it with setting a time. I can only do it manually and that is hard because I am not always here to do it. I would prefer something that would automatically do it once I make a schedule in the system.     We're excited to announce that "Menus by Daypart" is now available to all Restaurant Growth merchants!This new feature empowers merchants to effortlessly create customized POS menus tailored for specific times of the day. Your POS devices will then automatically display the relevant menu.

  3. We have identified a significant issue with our Clover POS system that is causing considerable confusion among our staff. Specifically, there is currently no functionality to mark online orders as Ready for Pickup or Picked Up. As a result, all incoming orders are displayed in a single list without any indication of their status. This lack of differentiation makes it difficult for our team to manage order flow efficiently and track which orders are still being prepared versus those that have already been collected or are ready for pickup. This a must for good POS system.

    To support the upcoming Guest Count Report planned for release in 2025, we’ve updated the default settings to require guest count entry for every order. This change ensures consistent and accurate data collection across all dining experiences.

    If merchants prefer to revert to the previous settings, they can do so by navigating to:

    Dining App → Hamburger Menu (top left) → Settings → Define Guest Count



  6. Merchant receipt needs to print the actual tax & fees not the total.
    Currently printed customer receipt states the actual fee or taxes however on the merchant receipt where the customer needs to sign it totals the amounts not itemized. If we only have a fee and no taxes it states "total taxes" which is misleading when there are no taxes.

  7. Clover just altered the cash checkout process. It now asks if a customer wants a receipt BEFORE telling the employee what change was due. Please fix it!

  8. I have had several merchants reach out to me, their ISO, because their teams cannot see the Change Due until the customer chooses a receipt type. They are left starting at a screen that says:

    "Customer is selecting receipt type...No Receipt or Print"

    If they make the receipt selection for the customer so that they can get to the Change Due screen, the customer doesn't have the option to email it to themselves.

    Could we please show the Change Due on the merchant facing side while the customer selects a receipt type.

    To support kitchen staff who prefer working in Spanish, we encourage you to use the Item Alternate Name feature in Inventory. This allows you to add item names in Spanish, which will appear on both the Kitchen Display System (KDS) and printed receipts in the BOH.

    As a helpful reminder:

    "Use alternate inventory names – Prints the alternate name on the label. If the employees preparing the order speak another language, consider using alternate names."

    This small change can make a big difference in improving clarity and efficiency in the kitchen.

  10. There is an issue when we have items with different prices based on size for example. On kiosk the costumer sees the items with 0 price then he has to choose the size.
    It looks ugly when items are shown with $0.00 prices. If there is a way to post the base price of the item and can be changed when choosing the size.. That will be great.

  11. Hi,

    I’d like to suggest adding an option to remove the QR code from payment receipts. It significantly increases printing time and doesn’t serve any purpose in our current setup.

    For high-volume businesses like ours, every second counts. Being able to disable the QR code would help speed up transactions and reduce customer wait times.

    This is already supported and merchants have an option to enable or opt-out of this via settings.

    Setup App >> Payments >> "Enable Scan to Pay"

  12. When are you going to bring back the ability to take items offline on the register?? What is the most frustrating thing as a busy business owner is having to pull out my phone and be the ONLY one that's able to take an item offline and be able to put it back online when it's available again. I can't have employees logging into my clover account seeing my financials just to navigate the 10 step process to take an item offline.   13. When using the "Custom Item" button within Clover Dining, it is not possible to assign a printer label to the item. This means that the item will appear on the guest check but it will never be fired to the kitchen. Am I missing something?

  14. Allow for credit card information to be swiped without pre auth to hold open a tab. With pre auth to many chargebacks happening since some pre auths are not falling off immediately and it appears there are 2 charges.

  15. Option to choose automatic firing for voided items sent to the printer or KDS, currently servers have to manually press a button and the button disappears quickly.

  16. Clover should have the options to increase the price of modifiers as well for Grubhub, Doordash and Uber menus that are integrated with Clover POS. For example all 3rd party integrations runs updates on daily basis to sync the menu which brings the price of modifiers to what is set for in store prices and costing a restaurant to not be able to cover their 25% fee from increased menu since it is getting charged at same price on Doordash etc. same as store prices if the prices of items are set with modifiers.

    Hello, Thanks for reaching out to Clover with your requirement. We have developed the capability where merchants can make wholesale price adjustments on the modifiers within a given menu. In this way, you can have differential pricing for modifiers in your in-store Vs online ordering channels. We are rolling out this feature to merchants in phases and you should receive this shortly.

  17. Would it be possible to print out separate line item on any order that goes back to the kitchen. Example: Order has salad in it and they send out the salad first, would like the ability to just print off that and not the hold order when that is up etc.

  18. Broomfield, CO has an Abo's Pizza that uses your services. Fix the typo so it says Broomfield, not Bloomfield, on all the stuff you send out. Yes, they have flowers there, but the name of the town is Broomfield.

  19. Right now when I take a carry out over the phone, then click "save", rather than the order automatically printing I'm having to go into the "orders" app, click the order then click "reissue receipt". Three extra steps (time consuming) rather than just auto printing. Please, if possible, update so receipts can auto-print when saving an order.

  20. Need the ability to have an audible and visual notification when an online order comes in; currently, there is no notification and it can sit there unnoticed while folks are busy with other things, but a ping, or bell when a new standard online order comes in is critical for the business
