Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Hi,

    I’d like to suggest adding an option to remove the QR code from payment receipts. It significantly increases printing time and doesn’t serve any purpose in our current setup.

    For high-volume businesses like ours, every second counts. Being able to disable the QR code would help speed up transactions and reduce customer wait times.

    This is already supported and merchants have an option to enable or opt-out of this via settings.

    Setup App >> Payments >> "Enable Scan to Pay"

  2. When are you going to bring back the ability to take items offline on the register?? What is the most frustrating thing as a busy business owner is having to pull out my phone and be the ONLY one that's able to take an item offline and be able to put it back online when it's available again. I can't have employees logging into my clover account seeing my financials just to navigate the 10 step process to take an item offline. I don't know why Items had to be removed from the register but the availability to take a…

  3. When using the "Custom Item" button within Clover Dining, it is not possible to assign a printer label to the item. This means that the item will appear on the guest check but it will never be fired to the kitchen. Am I missing something?

  4. Allow for credit card information to be swiped without pre auth to hold open a tab. With pre auth to many chargebacks happening since some pre auths are not falling off immediately and it appears there are 2 charges.

  5. Option to choose automatic firing for voided items sent to the printer or KDS, currently servers have to manually press a button and the button disappears quickly.

  6. Would it be possible to print out separate line item on any order that goes back to the kitchen. Example: Order has salad in it and they send out the salad first, would like the ability to just print off that and not the hold order when that is up etc.

  7. Broomfield, CO has an Abo's Pizza that uses your services. Fix the typo so it says Broomfield, not Bloomfield, on all the stuff you send out. Yes, they have flowers there, but the name of the town is Broomfield.

  8. Right now when I take a carry out over the phone, then click "save", rather than the order automatically printing I'm having to go into the "orders" app, click the order then click "reissue receipt". Three extra steps (time consuming) rather than just auto printing. Please, if possible, update so receipts can auto-print when saving an order.

  9. Need the ability to have an audible and visual notification when an online order comes in; currently, there is no notification and it can sit there unnoticed while folks are busy with other things, but a ping, or bell when a new standard online order comes in is critical for the business

  10. Merchant would like the Server name to show on the KDS screen so if the cooks have a question about an order, they know who to ask. Currently it only shows the table name.

  11. Currently the KDS will show all orders even the ones already expedited to the customer. Example
    I put in an appetizer for the customer of an order of Bruschetta. On the KDS the kitchen will touch the screen to say its ready and it is removed. 10 minutes later I place their main course and the KDS will show the Bruschetta (with a check mark) and the rest of the order. When a kitchen is busy you are now asking the kitchen to make sure they look for a check mark. This needs to be resolved where the item does…

    Please navigate to the KDS settings under the Courses section and enable the option:

    "Switch courses on separate ticket at the time they are fired (default)."


    Enabling this setting will ensure that any items fired later for a course are printed on a separate ticket, improving order clarity and kitchen workflow.

  13. Enable indication/notification from the KDS when the items sent to the kitchen are complete and ready for pickup by the server. This can be an indicate on the order itself and the ability to configure if a server should be notified via text or if a notification can be sent to the device that sent the order to the Kitchen.

  14. I am Hossein, one of the managers of Diyako Cafe. We are using Clover systems, and we have a very important problem with that. In the case that we have more than one person on a table, and we serve some items to them, when the first person wants to pay for its order and leave and the other people remains, we can’t add any other items to the table. In this situation, the invoice is frozen and the only possible action is asking other guests to pay for their current bill, close the bill and open a new bill…

    Thank you so much for sharing feedback. This feature to allow one person leave table and still order remains open, is already available to all TSR plan merchants.

  15. Please fix Clover dinning app FIRE ALL glitch.

    When pressing “Fire All” screen returns to table layout as the order has been printed/ sent to the kitchen printer. But when go back to the table it is not marked as “printed”

    The screen should remain in such order screen if “Fire All” did not go thru.

    Tried below but did NOT resolve the issue.

  16. When making the orders on the KDS there needs to be the actual time on the top bar of the screen not just the timer when the item was fired.

  17. Server closes the wrong table and quickly realizes the mistake. There is no way to reopen the table to my knowledge without reentering all the orders. If its a large table what a pain.

  18. Merchants are requesting a more seamless direct integration with a KDS. They are aware of the 3rd party apps but prefer a Clover integration.

    We've reviewed the current flow of the "Fire All" functionality in the Dining app and confirmed that it is working as designed.

    When a merchant selects "Fire All", all un-fired items are sent to the kitchen (via printer or KDS) without affecting items that have already been fired. Additionally, a "Printed" label is applied to fired items, helping to clearly distinguish between what’s been sent and what’s still pending. The Fire All button remains enabled to allow for future actions as needed.

    Currently, we display six different table statuses to assist merchants in managing operations:

    Available, Seated, Seated - Delayed, Paid, Unavailable, and Contactless Dining.

    Adding another status solely to reflect item firing status may not be ideal, as it could clutter the interface and introduce complexity without significantly enhancing clarity.
