Welcome to the Clover Restaurant Forum.  You're here because you are a Clover Restaurant merchant and would like to submit ideas that you feel would enhance/improve Clover's current offerings in the Restaurant space. 

In order to submit your idea you'll need to give it a Title then select the Category that best matches your idea.  Below are brief descriptions of the Clover Restaurant Categories.

Clover Dining: Ideas related to table management and the Clover Dining experience.

Employees: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

Engagement: Share your thoughts on Clover’s built-in software that allows businesses to manage customers including viewing/storing customer information.
Clover GO: Clover GO is a mobile POS system designed for businesses that need to accept payments on the go.

Hardware: Ideas related to Clover hardware in the Restaurant space

Inventory: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clover’s inventory management software.

  1. Allow the ability to assign an existing or add a new customer to a specific guest at a table directly within the Clover Dining app, rather than only through the Register app or Customer app. Guest Naming: to assign individual names to guests seated at a table.

  2. Expend network label printing functionality to the KDS. Make sure the label print includes custom modifiers.

  3. With the new Station Duo, when the customer inserts or taps their card, the pre-auth/pay window does not automatically show up on the station window allowing the client to pre-auth the card, it rquires extra input.

    Thank you for your feedback on the Station Duo pre-auth capabilities. Given the card slot is only available on the customer facing device we have explicitly designed the system to require an instruction from the merchant facing device to open a pre-auth and start the customer facing device to take payment. Currently, we are not planning any changes to this workflow.

  4. 24 characters for the business name -- not enough. Please make the business name field capable of accommodating up to 30 or 36 characters. Thank you

  5. When a URL for a single item in Clover online ordering is shared it takes you to the main ordering page rather than the specific item.

  6. Allow the creation of recipes that allow assignment of inventory items and ingredients that increases/decreases counts upon receipt/use/creation of items, sub-items and ingredients for menu and non-menu items.

  8. have the option to have tips withheld setting for employees at 3% by law the merchant is not suppose to keep any of the tips earned by the employee, since the merchant is not keeping the tips at all, the employee's get paid off of tips however the merchant is getting hit with the percentage of credit card processing fee's - merchant should have the options to tip withhold a percentage off the tips to offset the credit card processing off of money the merchant does not keep, it's like if the employee is not taking any of the costs…

  9. Online Delivery Partner integration - need to be able to provide an online menu with delivery pricing and another menu with a lower pick up price for orders placed on DoorDash or Uber Eats. Merchants are charged lower commission for pick up orders and they want to pass through savings to customer. Also, DoorDash provides merchants with online ordering and would need separate menu with even lower prices there.

  10. Need the ability to re-order the modifier groups within the item. It's too difficult to re-order all of the modifiers for each item if the merchant has 30+ modifier groups. For example the merchant needs the required modifiers to show before the others in the item.

  11. Scenario for counter service restaurant: You have multiple guests ordering under one ticket at the counter but when using the register app, order items are unable to be assigned by the respective guests, this causes confusion at the kitchen because order ticket appears to be telling the kitchen staff that there’s one guest placing these multiple orders. My merchant is asking for the option to go into the register app and have the ability to/ function to organize an order ticket by guest identically to how Clover Dining does it.   13. When we’re in the ITEMS list, we can only sort by name. We organize our items by SKU, so it would be nice to have the ability to sort by any column. Additionally, we’d like to be able to rearrange the columns. We prefer the SKU to be the first column for referencing, so it would be great if we could drag the columns to change the order.

  14. Communication with Engineering Team
    Once a case has been created, the communication almost completely stops. There needs to be a path to engineering for ISO's and Agents. More often then not the case is closed and is not resolved. If the engineers do not want phone calls, create a portal where the case lives once it is open. Agents can check their tickets and respond accordingly, making the process more seamless while getting the issued resolved in a more timely manner, keeping merchants happy!

  15. Need a option/process to track Courtesy/Spills in Restaurant/Bar environment to account and report for these items, with out it affecting the sales numbers on the reports. Once the order is open & printed to Kitchen/Bar and an event occurs to the order and it is declared a loss/spill or courtesy. The order will remain unpaid and declared a loss/courtesy, it needs to appear on daily report and be tracked weekly/monthly/annually for reporting to government agencies. Specially on liquor.

  16. Currently, "description" is supposed to already included for export/import but that is not the case. Additionally, pictures is not an option. However, there is much more data that should be included with data transfer, that could be optional by the account owner. Make everything available and optional for export/import - including the current state (at the time of export) of each item.

  17. Allow a configurable delay for firing to the Kitchen Printer when the option to print when Save or Pay is tapped to allow for declined payments.

  18. For Modifier Groups for online orders, we used to have the ability to choose a min/max for specific modifiers. Example: A combo with 3 sides. We can list all the sides, but if a customer wants to choose 2 of the same side (mac & cheese for example), there is no ability to choose 2 mac & cheese, just one of each sides. Can the quantity be adjusted to have a min/max option?
