Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  3. We are a new small business - a neighborhood grocery/bodega and a Food to Go business. We need restaurant services (on line menu, gift cards, curbside, pick-up dine in )and grocery services (Inventory, multiple categories). We buy from at least 15-20 distributors and vendors and have more than 5400 items already in the system with 15+ categories.

    The problem is when you export the inventory into an Excel spreadsheet all of the items are mixed up - on the ITEM tab. They are not sorted by category in fact they are not even alphabetized. The current Item tab does not…

  4. I manage a Retail Inventory were almost every item (over 48,000) has a Product code and/or a SKU. Please add these 2 fields to the Item Basics portion of the Add/Update screen so that we do not continually have to open sub-menus to access. You can add these after the Taxes & Fees field so that users who don't need these fields can easily ignore them.

  5. Clover Online Ordering should have the ability to schedule business closure dates on future dates for Holidays, etc. This would help prevent merchants from forgetting to turn off online ordering and having orders come in while the business is closed for holidays.

  6. We should get a ringtone when a COLO order comes up, that way in case we're not nearby the device, we can see when an Online Order is processed.

  7. Please eliminate on receipts this new addition "Retain this copy for statement validation" This adds ~1/2" of extra paper to receipt which adds to merchant costs with no stated reason for existence. I have dozens of Clover accounts who are complaining about this unnecessary addition. No one at Clover Tech Support has been able to offer any reason for its' existence since Oct 31st.

  8. for labels, every item has the ability to be printed to a BAR printer. We need the ability to have something print dependent on what device it was entered on. For example, a drink entered by a waitress needs to print at the bar, however, that same drink entered by a bartender (that will make the drink) does not need it to be sent to the BAR printer. This would avoid confusion, and things being made twice unnecessarily

  9. Make so you can set individual permissions on the Inventory App so I can set view only for my employees.
    I have seen them over right scan codes while doing price checks.
    I realize that they could just use the register app but then we get a too many open orders.

  10. When in inventory trying to look up and item, we need to be able to not only type item name but have a subfield search for "category" like in the past to narrow down the search to a more specific Category as some items come in a coaster a magnet or let's say a notecard That is very important for me as I am trying to re-order magnets only and I see all the items from this vendor mixed up as it shows too many

  11. It would be great to have admin capabilities to view audit logs of who added, removed, or updated a backend setting. Recently our business had a tax change made that cost us a large sum of taxes missed during transactions that had to come out of our business revenue as a result. These logs would allow us to see who added a new tax, when, and the specific user responsible for the addition. This will allow for accountability for these types of actions, but also to help understand when potential issues first started.

  12. The update that was done recently has made adding inventory to our system incredibly difficult. We are no longer able to add labels through our desktop and have to go to a different device in the store to add them into each item. We also cannot search for labels anymore and are only able to choose from about 50 predetermined printer labels and if the one we need isn't there, we have to go to a different device in our store and again add it manually. This update is horrible and our faith in Clover's abilities to fulfill our businesses…

  13. Could you please allow us the option to use the old format with a toggle or something? We are a retail business and I have over 5000 items to keep track of. The new version takes so much longer to make adjustments with everything in its own dropdown. I prefer the old way where everything was on one page.
    And please bring back the "Alternate Name". That was how we kept track of the manufacturers.

  14. Need an option within "Bulk Editing" to be able change/update how the inventory is updated (Manual or Automatic). Or an option within Inventory Setup to "APPLY ALL" to Manually track inventory or Automatically track inventory.

  15. Need a "Select All" or "Apply to All" option within inventory when editing items, NOT just what is shown/loaded on web page.

    Would also be nice to be able to have this option within the Inventory App on the Clover too. This would then, require it's own permission in Employees App as well.

  16. I would like a downloadable QR code that is specific to each table. But having a pdf QR code for a specific table, I will be able to design and laminate QR codes that I can permanently put on each table they way Toast does.

  17. Clover does not have a good way to manage expired and damaged inventory. The best solution in my opinion would be to enable ability to toggle sale tracking off for a specific payment type. This would be similar to the way you can create a product that does not impact revenue, (currently only available on a product by product basis.)

    This would allow all products rung to a "Expired/Damaged" payment type not to be counted as sales history.

    This is important because when assessing sales history to determine what products need to be re-ordered, currently the expired products are showing…

  18. Allow option for old interface when editing, adding or cloning an item. New interface implemented on 10/28/22 very cumbersome. The item search list results, allows which fields to show, BUT does not allow column size control. Cannot see enough of the item description to determine which item needs to be updated. also cannot see full Product Code/UPC on the search list. Please correct search list to display all data either by widening the columns or implementing a field wrap in variable height rows.

  19. The decision to change the inventory page layout without warning to Clover users was abysmal as well as disrespectful. My business has to make inventory/price changes on the fly, sometimes in the middle of a customer transaction and we do not have the time to learn the new layout while someone is standing there waiting to pay for an item. Also, it is going to take three times as long to enter information as it used to. We are a consignment store with a continually changing stock, not a business that orders the same items every week, month etc. At…

  20. The new inventory system update is completely unusable. Please go back to the old system where all the relevant inventory details (like cost) are on one page. If this doesn't go back to the way it was, we will have to move to another POS system. It really triples the time we will spend updating our inventory because we will have to click through multiple pages instead of just changing them in one page.
