Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. Merchant would like the option to be able to create and delete a variant item from the dashboard. Merchant can only create and delete the variant items with attributes from the Clover device.

  3. Requesting the ability to use Clover Dining in Cashier mode. This would allow a cashier to collect payments for the servers and subtract the credit card tips from the "cash due" in the Payments report.

  4. FSR's have shown me their receipts from their previous systems, and have all asked for something to be changed on our order receipts which I cannot do:
    - font sizes/bolding/color
    - horizontal lines between guests or courses on an order (our receipts do not clearly differentiate between one guest/course and another -and it's easy for a cook to miss something)
    - the ability to change a header/sub-header that must print (whether under an individual guest, or the whole table...Appetizers as a prominent head/category, then the item below, then "Entrees" and so forth)

  5. Merchant is unable to reopen and continue a guest tab when one guest leaves early and settles their tab.

  6. Requesting to be able to adjust or edit Orders after they have been paid. Mistakes happen where the wrong tender or item could have been selected. For instances like that, Admins should be able to make corrections when necessary, regardless if the Order is Paid or not... especially while the customer is still present and the batch is open.

  8. Merchant would like the ability to change the order of items with variants within the inventory application during creation or have it create the order by the order in which she creates the variants.

    Currently, you can only reorganize within the categories that the items are added to.

  11. Merchant wants a feature for the tender type gift certificate that shows how much the customer spent and how much is left on the certificate.

  13. Currently, Clover Dining generates Order Numbers but instead of an actual number, uses the Section name and Table name as the order number.

    Example: Clover Dining table opened in "Dining Room" Section, table A1 will have the Order #: Dining Room - A1.

    Merchants want an option to have Clover Dining generate a normal order number instead of using the section name and table name.

  14. Merchant wants to restrict permissions per device i.e. wants employees to only be able to view their sales activities and reports; advised to update employee permissions; however, merchant wants a solution for employee to view certain sales activities/ reporting

  15. merchant would like taxes to appear on the payment receipt as labeled. Instead of subtotal and tax, he would like them to read what taxes are being charged, for instance an order with food and liquor would have a liquor tax line display and a sale tax line display on the receipt as a breakdown of what taxes were charged to the customer

  17. When programming a menu for a full service restaurant. We need Sub Modifiers!!

    Lets say the Item is Spaghetti that comes with choice of soup or salad.

    Right now the modifier has to read: Every kind of soup and every kind of salad option.

    It would be nice if a modifier was able to be programed that said "soup" and then "salad".

    Then SUB modifiers would come up. IF Salad was selected all the salad dressings would be listed in the sub modifier. If soup was selected all of the soup options would come up in the sub modifier.

  20. I should be able to see what is in my cash drawer somewhere. Like when a server comes in for the evening shift and passes the drawer off they should be able to see a drawer total so they can count it.
