Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. I need you to add a payout button to my device so the employees can see the payouts and it will show on their reports. I also need it to show up on my dashboard

  2. Currently, customers with international phone numbers cannot pay for their order when checking out in Clover Online Ordering. This is especially frustrating when you use the Clover Dining Table QR Codes. They put in their order, get all the way to end to pay, and it stops them, and they have to repeat entire order to a person. Please support international phone numbers for Clover Online Ordering or give us the ability to NOT require phone numbers.

  3. Restaurants NEED "NO" Modifiers ONLY to print in RED

    Currently we are told only ALL modifiers will print in RED

    YET other POS systems businesses are coming off of, allow to CHOOSE what will print in RED on Kitchen Orders ...

  4. From the register icon, if you choose delivery the prompt for address and telephone number should automatically pop up. There is never a time that you will choose delivery and not need the address. For restaurants that have younger employees-if they forget to ask for address information it creates big problems to retrieve that information.

  5. Have an option in the inventory screen, when adding new items, to be able to print a barcode label from Easy Labels. This is essential when new items come in that don’t have barcodes on them. Also, be able to assign a barcode to an item that has no barcodes in the inventory screen.

  6. There should be a way or a program that let's you control your POS from a distance. I should not have to physically go into my restaurant to fix some minor issue with my POS that requires a Manager's passcode.

    Please Develop a program that let's me access my POS from a computer outside of my location or wifi connection. If I can connect to CloverGo from my phone, I should be able to connect my laptop to my Pos Solo or Flex.

  7. An alert message should be changed for employees who don't have access to inventory while scanning items. Currently if an item is not in inventory and an employee scans it who doesn't have access to add items into inventory, Clover scanner beeps as if it was a normal item entered in inventory, briefly displays a discreet message which almost blends into the background of the Clover display, and allows the clerk to continue scanning other items. We have had numerous instances where the clerk doesn't realize something didn't scan and therefore we are giving away free product. It should be…

  8. Online Ordering should have a collapse layout or some other layout options for a more intuitive end-user (customer) experience. if you look 1 of my siteshttps://paradisesmoothiejuicebar.com/mableton-order-online customers select smoothie then Berry White (ex.) they have to scroll vs there being a collapsed or tabbed option they can see more and make the ordering process more intuitive and less friction. As a developer I have to program in usability that make the experience even more challenging. Please advise?

  9. In the items section the width of the columns should be able to adjusted. Some items that have longer names get cut off.
    When searching for an item in the register app could there be a way to sort the items in the search by price (highest to lowest or vice versa)

  11. When an order is placed that is transferred to a different server the order gets fired a second time which causes confusion in the kitchen during busy periods.

  14. Please make it so employees cannot get passed the lock-screen without clocking in by making the clock-in prompt undismissable. Meaning, when you hit cancel instead of clock-in, you are brought back to the lock screen. This will prevent employees from accidentally processing transactions without being clocked in.

  15. Hello,

    I wanted to know if you can add a expiry option where products are added. I have a retail store For A Dollar Plus in Lititz Pennsylvania, and have over 5,000 items, and probably 2,500 or more have an expirey date. If it was an option then I can view products expirey dates in Inventory Report. Currently, I have to check products manually.

    I would really appreciate it if this can be added to Clover.

  17. As a restaurant operator I find it absolutely horrifying and an immense oversight that my employees can process transactions under their own credentials without being clocked in. As a result, these transactions do not appear on the shifts report, but do appear in both the transactions and reporting apps. We hold our credit card tips, as such the employees rely on the shifts report in order to determine how much card tip they are owed and how much cash they must turn in to the house (their total cash sales).

  18. When managing multiple locations with the same inventory and discounts it is extremely time consuming to be able to enter/manage discounts as they have to be entered individually under each Location. I would like for the discounts to be added to the Multi-Location dashboard like the Items etc are - with the ability to enter the discount 1 time and select which location it will apply to or at the location level be able 'select/unselect' which of the discounts apply to that location.

  19. When using the Multi-Location Dashboard Inventory we are consistently having to make updates to locations and other attributes multiple times before the change is actually saved to the item. Many times I have to make a change at each location before it will accept the updates.

    Additionally, having ALL the functionality at the multi location level that we have at the individual location level - many things have to be done at the location level and with multiple locations have to make the same change multiple times is very time consuming.

  20. Please add "brand" column or feature. Right now our retail business uses "printer label" as brand because we do not need to print orders to a kitchen and we need something to account for the many brands that we sell. For whatever reason, when adding a new product, the "pinter label" options are not alphabetical. This is very annoying because we have almost 100 brands that we have to scroll through to find the right one.
