Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

  1. I own 2 coffee shops, and it would be awesome if you could have a + or - on syrup flavors to increase the amount of syrup pumps or decrease without having to type in a custom modifier. Also, it would be really helpful if you would be able to set standard pumps of syrup or recipes for each individual drink so you can use the + or - feature.

  2. Need a mandatory line item on a QR code for organization or company. Must be exportable in a excel spreadsheet so we can sort by company or organization

  3. Merchants would like an option of seeing the order type (Dining Room, Takeout, Online, etc.) print at both the top of the order ticket (current) as well as an option to have it print at the bottom of the ticket too (enhancement). Even though it prints in Red on a kitchen printer, sometimes the kitchen staff doesn't see the order type because it is at the very top of the ticket with the header info and/or is obscured when the ticket is hung in the kitchen.

  4. In several states, Online merchants such as Doordash, Ubereats, and Grubhub, have to collect tax and pay it directly to the state, without that tax collected going to the restaurant.

    Right now, under the current iteration of the integrations with Doordash, Grubhub, and Ubereats, the taxes on those orders are bundled with the default sales tax set for the restaurant. This makes it difficult to differentiate what revenue and what tax is from Online Partners and which one is from the restaurant or direct-online-ordering with the restaurant.

  5. For Delivery platforms, it should state whether or not it is Delivery or Pickup.

    For Ubereats, it will say Uber Eats Delivery and Uber Eats Pickup which is good. The only issue is that on the sticky labels, it will state delivery whether or not it is delivery or pickup. For Doordash, it will just say Doordash Pickup on the top of the receipt. If it is a pickup order, the name will say for example: Pickup-John. We would like it to be made easier by separating the headers Doordash Pickup and Doordash Delivery. For Grubhub, it will not indicate…

  6. Logging into Clover, I see "respond to recent customer reviews" and a company that I never sold to. Checking and the company does not even exist. It looked like Clover was compromised. I called and was told to ignore this as it was advertising. I had PayEasy for years and nothing like this ever popped up. This is a business system. Get rid of the ads.

  8. Restaurant version needs to add modifier Change Layout option under each item with modifiers. Some menu items have different choice options needed in a specific order. Currently, if you adjust modifier position in Modifier Change Layout, it adjusts in all items. Needs separation.

  9. Currently, we have multiple order types: dine in, takeout, and phone call. We have dine in selected as default. This is not very optimal because we are a fast casual restaurant and every customer that comes in is not always dine in. When we login to our pin, the first order type that shows up is dine in. We do not want this to be default. It has to be because we are forced to choose one. Please make it optional.

  10. In the screen where it says set online ordering preferences for printers, we would like it to list label printers as well. Currently, it only lists kitchen printers. I run a bubble tea and vietnamese restaurant. When online orders come through the kitchen, we want it to print out the expo receipt with all items listed. We have two different labels, food and drink. Food is for the kitchen, and drink is for the label printer in the front.   11. I run a bubble tea shop and Vietnamese restaurant. We would like to keep order numbers but also have order notes on our labels. We input the customer name or table number on the label so that we don't have to print out a receipt for the customer so that they know the order number. We want order numbers as well so we can keep track of order priority. Currently, all delivery (doordash, uber eats, and grubhub) all say in store pickup.   12. Adding a print option on the virtual terminal screen and as well for customers name to show on the printed receipt without having to create a new customer profile each time. The payeezy system use to have everything on one screen but now some merchant have to leave the virtual screen to go to transactions just to print a customer receipt. And the receipt are not showing the customer's name.

  13. When building new items - The revenue class option should be on the main build an item screen. Makes no sense to build the item and then go back into another screen to add the revenue class. The app shows it on the main build an item screen.

  14. Change the inventory layout in the clover dashboard when clicking show more and coming back the inventory takes you back to the top and its very inconvenient.

  15. EASY =) When a selected modifier on an item is deselected and changed, keep that modifier in the order it was originally, instead of moving it to bottom of the modifier list for that item on the order ticket in kitchen.

    We lost a 3 location burger restaurant because, for ex, if their customer changed from medium to well done, it would move “well done” to the bottom of the modifier list

  16. When refunding online order through a device it puts the order status to "Pending"/"Open". After refunding online order this should enter a close status. Only way for merchants to correct is to go through Dashboard and "Delete" order as they cannot delete from device.

  17. The need to remove the "other" button on the item selection screen is very needed. We are very regulated by the state and if someone were to use this option it would be a big violation.
