There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Virtual Terminal: Provide all feedback on the Virtual Terminal in this category. How can we make this solution more useful for merchants?

2. Refunds/Exchanges: If you have any feedback on Clover’s refund or exchange functions please let us know here.

  1. Merchant would like to see the tip line and suggestions at the bill so he is able to have it on all receipts, for all form of payments accepted at the business.

  4. Many restaurants have servers tip out certain percentages to Hosts, Cooks, Bartenders, barbacks, etc. But there is no way to do this (manually or automatically) in Clover. The dollars would need to come off of the servers tip report and also go to the other employee. This way the data can flow appropriately to other apps like Homebase for proper payroll processing.

  5. When a customer pays with Apple pay, it allows them to enter a tip but does not show the tip in the tips app. It acts as if that transaction has not entered any tip. This is true for all nfc payment methods.

  6. At this moment, if an employee uses the Register app, the tips go to the person who cash out the transaction. For example, Joe takes a phone order and hit "save" using the Register App. Then, Peter cash out that transaction. The tips goes to Peter instead of Joe. We need to fix this because a full service restaurant has a lot of take out orders. And the servers do not share the tips. Creating tables on Clover Dinning as a workaround won't work when there are lots of take-out orders. Opening Bar & More tab won't work either because…

  10. merchant wants to see the full reporting tip showing the tips being paid out and also wants to split tips . taking partial tips on the clover go

  11. When a customer pays with a gift card, there is no way for a customer to leave a tip. Even if there are still funds on the card, if the customer does not have cash, then the server does not get tipped.

  12. If one employee closes out an order for another employee, the tip transfers over to the new employee. That shouldn't happen unless the order is physically transferred from one to the other.

  14. Merchants are requesting the option to reprint the CC receipt with the tip after the tip is adjusted. Many restaurants audit the customers hand written tip adjustment at checkout to make sure no errors were made when adjusting tips.

  15. "All Done" prompt when the back button is selected on tip prompt.

    Customers have walked out by pressing the back button on the tip screen. The message is the same message that is prompted when a sale is done. It is very confusing and much harder to track the customer in a fast paced environment. Much like a busy bar or a night club.   17. It would be nice if there was a total in the tip app and if there was a way to pay the tips out that shows a time and date when paid. It would also be nice if there was a report that could be printed with this information on it. It should be by employee and you should be able to print only one employee for a time period.

  19. You cannot put tips in for a closed order if your Station is offline. Calling Clover support the only answer I received was to call in and they can run a 2nd transaction on the card for the tip amount. This would hit the customers card 2x and is NOT a good way to deal with this issue. If the Station is offline the tip amount should be able to be entered and stored/sent with all the other card data when the system comes back online.

  20. Merchant wants the tip to go to the server not the cashier. Only way tip will go to the server is through the tables app.Would like for tip to go to the server no matter what.
