There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.

  1. It is extremely urgent that when we have a cash sale there is the ability to add tips. System is set to have CC users tip on the screen, but when customers pay with cash there is no way to go back and add the tips so the accounting is correct.

  2. The barcode scanner seems to be broken on the TIPS app. Lots of customers use this so it would be awesome if it worked again.

  4. The update that took place 9/28/23 disabled the ability to scan the barcode on the receipt when in the Tip App. This feature is VITAL when you are dealing with 100 printed receipts after a rush that you then have to scroll and search to find each one to enter the tip amount. PLEASE bring it back...

  5. The tipping app suggests the tip on the total amount purchased. It should be seperated as you don’t tip on products, but only services.

    i.e. Joe schmoe had a service of $100, but purchased $200 worth of product. The suggested tip should be on the service amount of $100 only vs the total of $300 plus tax. The client should not have to pull out their calculator to figure out the tip amount on the service.

It is time consuming and really impedes the process of checkout when we have to stop the process, back out and then add an additional tip for an assistant in addition to the service provider bc the client does not get an option to tip the assistant on the screen. it could be like a total additional screen even?

  7. Opt-In tipping instead of Opt-Out.

    There's a big difference between asking how much you want to tip versus giving the option to tip if they press an optional button. Especially for services that don't usually but would sometimes like to tip (such as retail).

    Leaving customers with thinking about if the person behind the counter is judging them for not tipping is not the final impression a customer should be left with and that is the only option with opt-out tipping being the only tipping option.

  8. I just had a server bring me a receipt. She went to enter the tip and it said tip was stored on device. She didn't use a hand held. Why can't she confirm the tip or let the manager have power to change the tip. This has happened numerous times. This has to change or else I need to change point of sales systems as my staff keep losing their hard earned tips.

  9. Restaurant managers should have the capability to adjust ANY tip that is received by customers - not just the ones that are left on a printed receipt. Customers make mistakes during the on-screen tipping option by adding an extra zero, selecting the wrong percentage, or accidentally hitting the "Skip" button, etc. Every other POS that I have ever worked with has this function and it is shocking and disappointing that Clover devices don't have this option.

  10. Restaurant merchant runs multi shifts per day and would like the ability to filter employee tips report by the hour to receive an detailed tip report for just the servers working on Shift A or B etc. Currently tip reports are via a 24 hour period.

  11. I run a store that sells both package liquor and drinks by the glass (a bar).

    There needs to be an option to remove certain categories from a tip prompt subtotal.

    For example if a customer buys a $10 glass of wine to drink at the bar, and on the same order purchase a $20 18pack of beer to take home…the tip prompt of 20% should only reflect the glass of wine for $2 tip.

    Currently if this transaction happens at our store the 20% suggested tip would be based on the entire order cost of $30. This creates an…

  12. PLEASE ALLOW TIPS BE ADDED TO DEBIT CARD SALES AFTER 25 MINUTES OF ORIGINAL SALE BEING PROCESSED. IF TIP IS TAKEN ON PAPER RECEIPTS.

    MERCHANTS EVERYWHERE ARE LOSING TIPS ON DEBIT CARD SALES.

    PLEASE ADD THESE POLICIES RESTRICTING DEBIT CARD ADJUSTMENTS/TIPS AFTER 25 MINUTES FOR DISCLOSURE.

    Hello, 

    If you have a merchant that has EDS Debit, their transactions can be routed to Debit Rails. When routed on Debit rails, these transactions cannot be tip-adjusted after 25 minutes. This is a network constraint, not one imposed by Clover. If merchants are willing to disable EDS Debit support then all of their Signature Debit transactions will be routed as Credit. This would allow the merchant to adjust the transaction/tip amount up until closeout.

  13. In the Tips program, it would be very helpful to also show the Cardholders Name or Last Name. Rather than having to look for the last 4 digits on the receipt and on the screen.

    Thanks for your feedback. Would you mind elaborating on the problem you're running into by not having the Cardholder Name in this Tips report? Also, to confirm, are you referring to the Tips app on the Clover device, or on the Clover Web Dashboard?

  14. An option to allow merchants to select whether the Tip line prints for large parties when the "Auto Gratuity" feature is selected. Currently, it is still showing the Tip line even when the extra Service Charge is assigned.

  15. When customer hit "SKIP" tip on a Clover mini device, we can't close out the batch. We have to disable the tip on device in order to enter zero for the tip then close out the batch. After that we have to enable to add the tip back on the device. Is there any way to eliminate this step? When customer hit "SKIP" on tip enabled device, the device should see that a "zero" tip and should not prevent the batch to be closed out.

  16. Would like to have a button for extra service charges on a Holiday - e.g Xmas or New Year's Day or a large group service - e.g a party or event. Sometimes some restaurant customers don't tip enough. This will incentivize our employees working during holidays & avoid absences then for an event of large group, for clean up service.

    In Australia, tipping is not required but restaurants automatically have a holiday charge if they remain open & provide service on a holiday. This should be applicable here in the US, too. However, restaurant owners have the prerogative to do…

  17. Would like to have the ability to re-order how the tip options are laid out during the check out process on Station DUOs or Station 2s + mini combos. Would like to move the Skip option to the bottom under all the other tip options.

    The Skip button on our tip screen is already at the bottom and for our new user interface, the No Tip button is also at the bottom. Can you please provide an image of this if you'd like to pursue this idea further?

  18. Print tip suggestion on the bottom of the bill BEFORE payment, AND print tip suggestion on the bottom of Cash Receipts.

    Clover only prints tip suggestion for Credit Card payments.

  19. Previously on the Station 2018 model the customer would be prompted to select a tip amount after the sale had processed. On the Station DUO the tip prompt screen pops up on the customer facing device after the Merchant clicks "charge on connected device" before the transaction has actually processed. I have had multiple of my merchants complain about this workflow because customers selecting the tip amount and leave because they think they have paid. My merchants have unfortunately lost a couple of sales because of this. They are high volume Coffee shops so they are unable to monitor whether…

  20. Many restaurants have the need for employees to "tip-out" other employees based off of their sales of food and non-alcoholic beverages during their shift. This is fairly common for small & medium size restaurants. For this reason, it would be great to have Sales Totals by Revenue Class print on the Employee report that comes from the Clover device (not the web)... since the employee would need to pull the report themselves and may not have access to a computer. I've had this request from a handful of restaurants.
