Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Would like to be able to allow a guest to use two forms of payments in Clover Dining. Currently if you pay by guest, it makes the guest make the whole payment.

  2. Clover Dinning needs order numbers not just table numbers. Especially, for a fast pace taqueria where keeping track of tables isn't a necessity.

  5. I am a Canadian Merchant and I have several clients who have asked about having the Bar Tab Auths application made available in Canada.

    They would like the app to include an auto close out in case the client leaves without closing off their tab (forgets to close tab / skips out).

  6. Merchant would like for the quantity limit amount to be more than the existing 999 that we have currently. All of the orders are calculated via pounds and he would like to be able to key that type of information in for the quantity.

  8. Servers are forgetting to put their drinks on their table's ticket. If an order is assigned to an actual table, not a to-go order, it would be awesome to not allow for the bill to print until they are added. To throw an error reminding the server.

  9. I have spoken to two different restaurants that would like the capability to see in reporting when a transfer of table/server happened. For example : Server A is serving a table gets them up to entrée point but has to leave so she transfers the table/orders to Server B. Server B handles the table from there til they cash out. They need a way to see that Server A was also involved with that table for tip purposes.

  12. Change on how discounts appear on the receipts.

    Reflect the net total against the amount paid and also show the total savings.

    Item name = $12.00
    Discount 60% = $7.20
    Item name = $5.00
    Discount 50% = $2.50


    Net Total = $17.00
    Amount Paid = $9.70
    Total Savings = $7.30

  16. In Register App: Merchant wants app to show a notification advising when an item is scanned but it's not in the inventory for Employee roles that cannot add items. Merchant explains that in fast-paced retail environments most employees listen for the beep and move on. This notification would help ensure orders are scanned accurately.

  18. With the Tables app, you can release a table into Open Orders when there are still items on the Order.

    There is no function for that currently. Occasionally, we need to release a table just to move forward when we are busy.

    With Clover Dining, you have to remove all the items and then audit removed items at the end of the day to prevent theft.

  19. Add Order Details of items column to payment screen of 2018 as it was on original Station now replacement with column with EMV entry and manual card entry option.
