Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Merchant wants a option that when she presses category, inside category there is a custom item option when pressing that option that custom item goes under that category. Which Merchant needs this option because they have several vendors that they sell for, merchant has them set by category, And sells different things for those vendors.

  2. I would like to see an option to change the background color of my dashboard. Bright screen

  3. Create a permission setting to allow or not allow employees to use Clover go. Currently this is driven by an email address in the employee settings, which also gives employee access to the dashboard. There are many cases especially in large accounts where you would want an employee to be able to run reports from the dashboard, but would not want them to be able to load the app and run transactions. Or be able to use the Clover Go app without having access to the dashboard.

  4. On the Terminal Software, while we can checkmark the box in setup to "Log out after transaction," it will not log out. On traditional credit card terminals we had the option for a Server ID. On the Mini we must use Employee Pins, but if someone forgets to lock the screen after their transaction, or needs to attribute the sale to a different server- it is a hassle. If the log out feature functioned on the terminal software, it would be a start at resolving this issue.

  8. The ability to assign cash drawers to an employee, cashier in the clover app. Ability to assign single or multiple. Ability to run and drawer report and remove/cash out employee till and reassign new employee.

  10. In the Tables app there should be a permission setting to restrict servers from un-claiming a table after it has been claimed. Currently, a server is able to un-claim a table and assign it to another server without the other server's knowledge. This is a huge concern for many full-service restaurants with server banking.

  11. Clover currently has the option to fire when hitting Save or Pay. Customers are requesting the ability to have the option to have the Clover Fire when the Order is paid. Currently there is an option that allows for Orders to Print when the order is paid, but this requires the merchant to select a printer, and it sends all items rather than just the items selected by the Label.

  12. As a Clover merchant who manages item stock count with the Clover Inventory app I would like to receive stock alerts when item stock is low (or has run out) so that I am given advanced notice about low stock and I'm able to place orders with my vendors before I run out of that item.

  13. As a Clover merchant in the restaurant industry who uses a kitchen printer or kitchen display to send orders to a remote kitchen I need the ability to send a void receipt to the kitchen printer/display whenever an item which was previously printed is removed from an order so that my employees don't have to run back to the kitchen and tell them not to fire an item every time something is removed from an order.

  16. For merchants who own or operate multiple locations, it would be nice to have the ability to see reporting for those locations on one dashboard. Love all of the reporting options today (Total payments, by item, by employee, taxes, etc.) but would like to have that information aggregated across all of my locations somewhere.

  17. For merchants that own or operate more than one location selling the same products or services, it would be beneficial to have one place where an administrator can update menus/items from one dashboard for all locations, so that the merchant can quickly and easily facilitate opening a new location, or enacting menu/inventory changes that impact multiple locations.
