Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. When merchant uses a custom tender to accept a sale (such as lottery) the amount is accepted as CASH, but does not show the actual amount of cash that was accepted.
    This is needed to know how much to give back to the customer as change.

    • If he uses the tender button it keeps track in the payments report to show him the amount he is accepting for lottery
    • If he uses the cash option it totals all of the cash payments instead of separating the amounts just paid as the custom tender( not allowing to keep track of just…

  4. Merchant would like the option to be able to create and delete a variant item from the dashboard. Merchant can only create and delete the variant items with attributes from the Clover device.

    Please add the option to create and delete items that are variant from the dashboard.

  5. The merchant is using the Clover Dining App . The merchant is unable to split Clover Rewards points on the table to each customer. They can only reward the entire table when paying out the order. The merchant was able to use this functionally in the tables app. The merchant needs this to be added to the Dining app.

  6. I inadvertently added a wrong item (i.e. a dinner portion rather than lunch) and fired it. We verbally corrected the item with the kitchen, and I deleted the item and re-rang it WITHOUT FIRING. However when I hit Pay at the end of the meal, it automatically fired that item and kitchen made it again.

  8. Requesting the ability to use Clover Dining in Cashier mode. This would allow a cashier to collect payments for the servers and subtract the credit card tips from the "cash due" in the Payments report.

  9. merchant would like taxes to appear on the payment receipt as labeled. Instead of subtotal and tax, he would like them to read what taxes are being charged, for instance an order with food and liquor would have a liquor tax line display and a sale tax line display on the receipt as a breakdown of what taxes were charged to the customer

  11. Currently clover allows for Order IDs to be searched on the clover dashboard. Clover also allows you to enter order numbers but the only problem is the order number are not searchable on the dashboard, only on the device. So when the merchant manually enter their invoice numbers on their transactions, these numbers are not searchable on the dashboard.

    If the order number is searchable on the clover device, the option should also be available on the dashboard.

  12. The merchant would like to use an SP650 printer that works with thermal paper so they don't have to worry about ribbons or using the different type of paper.

  14. Instead of having to inventory all items in the closet er pos. I think we would benefit greatly from a countdown of saleable high dollar items and specials.
    We currently use orca fo or end of month inventory but an ability to monitor a handful of line items closely would be great.

  15. Prospects wanting an itemized breakdown of taxes on payment receipt..Ex 1 line that shows sales tax...next line shows liquor tax...and then a total tax. Currently all taxes are rolled up into 1 line called TAX

  16. The merchant wants to be able to delete an entire Order after the ticket has already been printed out or sent to the kitchen. The merchant does not want to remove or delete the items individually.

  17. Merchant would like the ability to change the order of items with variants within the inventory application during creation or have it create the order by the order in which she creates the variants.

    Currently, you can only reorganize within the categories that the items are added to.
