Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  1. Merchant is wanting a pop up to be present when deleting categories.

    Example: When merchant deletes a category the pop up would confirm merchant wants to make change before fully deleting category.

  5. Merchant is only able to see 100 of his items in the category/label on his clover dashboard. Merchant is looking to be able to see all his items within his category/labels on his clover dashboard.

  7. Merchant currently uses the Clover Dining App for their restaurant. They run a special 24/7 called "Buy One, Get One Free" for their drinks. The drinks are listed as items in their inventory (ex. jumbo frozen lime margarita, draft bud light, tall michelob ultra) and are all categorized and priced differently. When the merchant goes to select two drinks (Jumbo Strawberry Margarita $9.99 and Tall Bug Light $5.99), they would like for the cheapest item to be discounted (free) automatically when selected.   8. when customer is going to order the item together with the modifier items, say steak with fries, fries is the modifier, there is no way for merchant to add 2 orders of fries or 3 orders, if we can add a quantity of modifier items, that will be very useful

  9. Currently, in non-table ordering section, it only shows customer, note, and amount. Non-table order can consist of many types such as calling, wating, Uber Eats, and other 3rd party vendors. I have no idea from non-table ordering section to see where the orders are coming from. For now, the workaround is opening to see from Orders app. This is not efficient at all.

  14. The merchant request that the size of the paper is changed,
    Here are the merchants comments

    1. The receipt for the regular Credit Card for the merchant copy is 8 inches long is double from the other vendors Receipt length. 2- the Customer copy for the regular Credit Card is about 5.5 inches long the other vendors receipt length is 3 3/4 inches.

    3- On the end of the day when the time come to close the day the
    summary/detail report is about 2.5 to 3 feet long depend from the day of the week. Normal will be 8-14 inches.

  15. Increase the maximum number of items allowed in a category beyond 1,000. Suggest 10,000. We have to create sub-categories as a work around. An inventory file cannot be imported with a category item count above 1,000.

  17. Allow a large party order to be put in together, but sent separately. For example, on a 20 top, take all the orders, but send them 4 items at a time on 5 tickets. This will ensure the large tables order will fire at the same time, but not on one long ticket.

  18. FSR clients need the ability to combine or merge two tables together to accommodate large groups. They need to be able to combine to tables from their dining room layout to make one new table, rending the other unavailable. Example: merge two tables together and auto generate a table # combining the two (A1 + A2 = A1A2). This and the ability to remain in table once firing are required for FSR.
