Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. Would like to be able to select modifier and change the quantity. Example: In the Tables app we used to be able to select a modifier for a type of salad dressing, and if someone wanted more a different quantity could be selected.

  4. Using The Reorganize Modifiers master list is complicated. When each inventory item is set up, we should be able to select the specific order of modifiers for each item for an easy flow, and thus less scrolling up and down, on the clover dining app. This is important when using the Clover Flex as there is too much wasted time scrolling up and down to find pertinent modifiers. I have even tried using a numerical system to override the alphabetize system, and it doesn’t necessarily work all the time. Each inventory item has a unique flow when placing an order…

  7. Currently on the Mini Itemized merchant receipts are not possible. However on the clover station itemized merchant receipts are possible. Would like to request this to be the same on the clover mini as well.

  8. Adding labels on the clover device take two long I have to add it one by one . If I have categories set up already I should be able to go under labels and select items to add to my label based on category . If I already have a category that everything is for food that go to the kitchen I should be able to go to labels and select that category and create a kitchen printer label with the category.

  9. On the Bar and More screen, when a manager logs in they can see all open tabs. If they are looking for a specific server's tab, they are unable to easily locate it.

    The tabs should be grouped by server, have the server's name at the top of the square, or have a unique color arcoss the top of the tab and group colors together.

    As of now, there is no easy way to locate a tab on the Bar and More screen when you have a lot of them open.

  10. Would like to be able to allow a guest to use two forms of payments in Clover Dining. Currently if you pay by guest, it makes the guest make the whole payment.

  11. Allow managers to assign tables to a server/employee in Clover Dining. In conjunction, provide the ability to cash out a server/employee and assign the tip to the original server.

  12. Merchant would the ability to edit notes on Paid order. The reason is for reconciliation purposes. If the wrong Order Type is chosen, merchant needs a way to go back and leave a note stating the correct type.

  14. Clover Dinning needs order numbers not just table numbers. Especially, for a fast pace taqueria where keeping track of tables isn't a necessity.

  15. Merchant would like for the quantity limit amount to be more than the existing 999 that we have currently. All of the orders are calculated via pounds and he would like to be able to key that type of information in for the quantity.

  18. I am a Canadian Merchant and I have several clients who have asked about having the Bar Tab Auths application made available in Canada.

    They would like the app to include an auto close out in case the client leaves without closing off their tab (forgets to close tab / skips out).

  20. Servers are forgetting to put their drinks on their table's ticket. If an order is assigned to an actual table, not a to-go order, it would be awesome to not allow for the bill to print until they are added. To throw an error reminding the server.
