Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. It would be great if the inventory bulk import capability could be enhanced to include the "Min Required" and "Max Allowed" fields for each Modifier in the Modifier Groups worksheet so that you have a fully functional bulk import capability. I'm not sure how this was missed from the original design? The bulk import capability is a nice tool, but from a user experience perspective, it is currently painful to have manually configure the "Min Required" and "Max Allowed" fields for each Modifier. This is even more painful when you have multiple locations with the same menu items.

  2. Adjustments to the inventory need a way to be tracked and logged. Otherwise anyone with access could just change an items inventory to say whatever and walk away with the difference. the lack of this feature is surprising honestly.

  3. We are only opening for CURBSIDE PICKUP but Clover does not have the ability to remove the "In-store Pickup" option. Confusing and misleading to customers. Also, customers don't get the curbside order instructions so they don't know what to do upon arrival.

  4. When merchant create a new item on the device and try to select category to add the new items to the list that come up need to have the categories in order so merchant can find them merchant have a lot of categories and every time she add new items merchant is having a hard time adding the item to her categories because the list is not consistent

  5. When tabulating employee hours for a specific week/month Clover should total these hours for the time frame requested. Currently Manager has to manually add these up which is time intensive and open for error.

  7. Currently the register permission "delete an item from an order" restricts the employee from deleting an item both before it is fired and after it is fired. We need the ability to allow an item to be deleted before it is fired and restrict the item from being deleted after it is fired.

  9. Merchant requested to edit the time frame/wait time provided to customers for an order made through COLO, advised that by default provides a prompt of 40mins to be prepared, he said that won't work for his location as he has to many customers and sometimes need an hour depending on the amount of orders and customers in queue.

  10. Closeout: Client wants to request a feature where their employees shouldn't be able to closeout the batch if they have any open orders inside of the current date.

  11. On the receipt it doesn't show merchant copy or customer copy neither it shows Approved or not approved. It would be great if these points are mentioned on the receipt, because at times merchant forgets which copy belongs to who.

  13. Online orders also needs to be numbered when printed to the Kitchen. Online ordering, content to be printed along with numbering should function exactly as ordered from the device.
    Numbering will help business serve to customer First-In-First-Out!

  14. Merchant would like the option of the item total amounts being purchased on the order to be displayed on the device and receipt. It would be easy for the to keep track of what total of items the customer is purchasing.

  15. Allow alcohol to be sold online where it is legal to do so. I am in Dallas, TX and it is legal to order alcohol online for pick up.

  16. Merchant would like to request an enhancement in to which he could select the roles that have access to the dashboard mobile app, that way he doesn't have to switch the roles of their managers to admin; since when they try to log in on the app only, it tells them they don't have admin rights.

  18. Ability for open order to show up in the customer's app. Also, Open orders should be display indefinitely until paid so we are able to remind clients o payment. For me it is imperative to be able to invoice clients and remind them of payment overdue. Open payments are very important.
