Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

8. Other Management Suggestions: Place your idea here if you have feedback that does not fit in any of the other forum categories.

  2. So every time I try to add some new item in my system from clover go app I need to type the upc code manually which so time consuming and annoying. If you guys add a barcode scanning option in clover go app for adding new items in inventory it will make our system more easy and convenient for all the users.

  4. Would like to be able to ran a report with all our inventory items that we sell so we know how many we sold and when we are running low on them to be able to reorder before we ran out. Also would like to do a report to see what the cost is in every part we sell. When we initial put in all the inventory we took it out of an old system and didn't put the cost in everything we it was put into clover and no in order to know what parts we didn't put in…

  5. The "new" inventory feature is a joke. There are too many clicks required to add a product and there are fields missing that are on the old version. Yet on the old version there are fields missing that are on the new version. The "new" was not thought out at all for easy use, no did someone look at the fields in the old version to ensure they are on there.

    Suggestions:

    Use the layout of the "old" version and GET RID OF THE NEW. Add the ability to upload a photo for the online menu/store within the old layout.…

  6. As a business owner, I have had issues with people accessing other employee codes and making changes that should not have been made regarding our inventory or even deleting orders. It is important to be able to identify changes being made and provide the history and analytics for those things that include information such as; was the change made online or on the clover register, what employee made it, time stamp, and identify the changes made and what it was prior.   7. The old inventory layout is so much easier to use than the new.
    1. In the item details page: it has the ability to tab through the fields and enter item info quickly. The new layout has drop down boxes that have to be clicked on to open and continue entering info.
    2. The item details page (when you select an item to edit the details) is much more condensed; there's no need to scroll. The new layout is unnecessarily large, lots of wasted space and you don't see everything at once.

  10. our customers may send in another employee to pick up product for their company. we should be able to use business name instead of personal if we want to. not to mention employees need to know the name of the owner or we have to enter it in the till kind of funny

  11. Our biggest setback with bars/restaurant's with reception venues is the ability to keep good bar tabs. Competitive POS systems allow for a quick scan of the credit card to open and create the tab and then run the total at the end of the night in the event the customer is a flight risk to leave out on their tab. How can we make this better for those businesses?

  14. I would like a retail version of the dining app features to use in the nail/beauty salons where they have set stations (tables). This version would be helpful to include a calendar to book appointment / schedule activities. A waitlist with texting ability would also be a benefit.
    These businesses also need to be able to split tips for services on the same bill. They currently are running the clients card several times or splitting their tips manually. This is an issue for accurate reporting, time consuming, and issue with getting their accurate tips sometimes.

  15. All Clover users! Vote on this one..Ability to add an upcharge either by % or flat charge total on a Category. Example the establishment wants to add an upcharge to its regular prices without the customer seeing the charge for a certain period of time for example a band from 7PM to 11PM. Most other systems can do this.

  16. I do not see the need to print Server Name ( Owner’s name) on order receipt + date / time stamp for Online Orders ( both Ordering.app & Clover Ordering). Those information alone take 4” of receipt space.
    Can someone look into this?

  18. I am a new Clover subscriber and while I am trying to set up a menu on the dashboard I was told I could not add item variant on dashboard but have to do it on the device. Isn't dashboard the most convenient place to edit and manage things while with the touch screen you do not even have a key board to type? Made me wonder are there more ridiculous design of the software of Clover.......

  20. Please enable a way to print just the order number for customers to hold onto. It is a waste of paper to print the entire receipt just for the order number. The customer should have the ability to request a receipt in which case the order number ticket and the receipt will both be printed.
