Management Functions

Welcome to the feedback forum for Clover Management Functions. Please share your ideas for how we can update our Clover management software to help merchants run their business simply and easily. Specifically, this forum should only include ideas surrounding built in management functions (feedback on business management apps should be included in the Apps/App Marketplace forum). We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!


1. Clover Dashboard Functionality: Share your thoughts on how the Clover Dashboard as a whole can function more effectively. 

2. Restaurant Menus and Clover Dining: Share your thoughts on all functions that specifically have to do with Clover Dining such as Clover’s built-in menu creation feature.

3. E-Commerce Management/Clover Online Ordering: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers e-commerce management software including Clover Online Ordering.

4. Inventory/Order Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers inventory management software.

5. Receipt Management: Provide ideas related to order receipts here including kitchen receipts, customer receipts and merchant copies. Tell us how Clover can enhance the processing of, information on, and appearance of various types of receipts.

6. Employee Management: Please include all your feedback and suggestions for enhancing Clovers employee management software. This includes permissions, viewing and editing employee roles, employee satisfaction, scheduling, owner access and more. If you have tipping suggestions, please include these ideas in the Tipping category of the Taking Payments forum.

7. Software Plans: Here you can provide feedback on Clover’s software plans. Please specify which plan your idea is featuring (Table Service Restaurants, Counter Service Restaurants, Register, Essentials, Payments).

  1. merchant stated it takes a lot of time using the new inventory layout because she has to click on "show more" to view more items ; merchant stated the old layout was much easier to use. merchant stated once she gets the bottom of the list she has to start over and not enough space left for item name

  2. Can you make a Permission under inventory that allows select employees to 86 and items, with out giving them access to the entire inventory app. I do not want them to edit prices, just availability.

  3. Can we setup a delivery option for online ordering that DOES NOT contract through doordash?

    Restaurants that have their own delivery staff don't have the option for online ordering to do it themselves...its forcing them to use doordash. Thanks

  4. Busy dining multiple section restaurants need the ability to print void tickets inside the kitchen as well. Current software is not allowing us.
    Example-
    Customer ordered 5 items from different 5 stations for dining services. Now customer changed his mind and he want to cancel 1 item. If staff will cancel that item kitchen should get void ticket with thats particular item. So they will know they don't have to make this item anymore.

    Current system is only reprinting the remaining items. Its not useful.

    If its not in next upgrade we are switching back to square.

  5. For online orders, enable pay at the store. In recent days, many of our merchants facing a lot of chargeback issues. money deduction from the bank. If we enabled the pay at store option, client will handle the payments directly. they have strong docs to submit if any disputes are raised.
    it will reduce the merchant's disputes on online fraudulent

  7. Enhancing Clover's retail variant capabilities to support creation of variants via the Web Dashboard and Importing of variants via Spreadsheet

    Many retailers sell at least some merchandise with variants. Clover offers no way to import such inventory when we sell Clover to an existing business, nor does Clover allow merchants to create and manage variants via the Web Dashboard.

    Clover's retail variants cannot be created or effectively managed via the Web Dashboard.

  8. The merchant would like to be able to setup tills and track them to be able to determine if the employee is over or under at the end of his/her shift. The employees should not be able to view how much cash their suppose to have, this information should only be accessible to the owner/admin/ upper management

  9. I operated a thrift store and most of our items are one and done. We would like to be able to have automatically manage inventory become our default or we would at least like to be able to select it in bulk for items.

  10. Multi-Location Inventory management functionality is subpar compared to the existing functionality in individual location dashboards.

    We urgently need export/import functionality for bulk item, categories, labels and location assignment editing. We have 2000 items that has to be centrally managed (via Multi-location dashboard) and synced between all locations. It is unrealistic to go and change 2000 items from begin with.

    Also it is unrealistic to Multi-location manage items from Web dashboard only. Individual clover terminals at different locations has to offer a feature to edit according properties for location, category, label assignment and those shall propagate to all other locations if…

  11. Please add manager permission for managers to be able to add a NEW employee into the system. This seems basic for a restaurant program. Managers are the ones that do new employee onboarding not the owner or admin

  12. I need my Managers to be able to access the Multi-User Dashboard to enter new items in inventory. With only Owner access, it means I must create all new inventory items. Otherwise, my Manager has to create it in one location and then duplicate it in our second retail location.

  13. A much needed update would be a warm welcome when it comes to the complexity of Clover's Service Plans. Merchants should be able to switch from ANY current service plan to any other ones from their Web Dashboard, including the older Register Plan at $29.95 per month. At the moment, some service plans require the credit card processor to completely re-provision the device in order to switch plans - costing the merchant time, money, and patience. Please add this to an upcoming update, as it would be hugely beneficial when tied in to the Multi-Location Dashboard as well (All plans…

  14. We continue to have issues with our inventory system due to common scenario when a customer calls in an order or emails an order. The problem is we are unable to enter the order into clover without them paying for it at that time. What happens we can enter the order and save it, but it doesn’t take the product out of inventory. While we wait for the customer to come in and pay, someone else on line or in store can still purchase the item and buy it from underneath the customer who has it on hold because it…

  15. Recently I cant see which server has opened a table. Neither can the server. Causing the wrong tables to closed out. Told to edit the floor plan and make the tables larger. our floor plan wont allow for us to make the tables any bigger than they already are. Tech support is blaming the latest update. Can you please fix.

  16. The alternate name field disappeared form the Inventory Add Item screen on 7/23/21. Requesting this field be added back to the screen. It is still in the export. Our business uses it regularly.

  19. Would like to printer order information based on Modifiers. Cook orders with their modifiers print to one printer and salads and the adds holds print to the salad printer for the waitstaff to work on.
