There are a lot of ways to take a payment. Provide your ideas to help advance Clover’s payments acceptance process here. We are listening and we use this feedback to prioritize our roadmap.


Here are quick descriptions of each category so that you can easily locate and post ideas in the correct place!

  1. When you send a customer invoice, it defaults to a single sales tax rate. Where we operate, we have a 6% state, 1% local, and 2% hospitatlity. We cannot bundle it all together because some entities do not pay all 9%. There needs to be a way to select multiple tax rates for the same invoice

  3. An email should be sent to the client after they make a payment in Hosted Checkout. Email address is already a required field so it should be simple enough to then send the receipt via email. This is pretty common practice with online transactions. The "Payment Received" confirmation page is good, but customers also expect an automatic email sent to them for their records.

  4. If a customer pays with cash and the amount tendered is entered, please make the pay button green. It is consistent with the rest of the app. It also makes it easier for the employee to quickly press the correct button. I find my employees hesitate because they are used to the button being green to proceed.

  5. I contacted Clover Support, who told me Clover updated on 11/1/23 and removed all Custom Tender options set up by our company while selling gift cards. Example: when on the payment screen while loading a gift card, there used to be our custom tenders under the "Other" section, but all of our custom names have been replaced by "Check" and "Mail/Phone Order". The custom names are still on our account under Account & Setup > Tenders>Custom Tenders, they just do not actually show up on any devices in our company after the update.

  7. I love using the invoice feature in Clover; however, some customers send a check in the mail or send payment via another method, and I can't currently mark the invoice as paid. That presents a problem. I'd like to have accurate reporting, but I'm instead going to have to mark the invoices as cancelled when they actually have been paid. Please create an option to manually mark invoices as paid. It would also be great to denote which invoices have been manually marked, providing an option for me to record how the invoice was paid, versus invoices that were paid…

  8. We were forcibly migrated onto the Clover system from Payeezy.

    The hosted checkout page was useful because we didn't need to cover our website under PCI compliance.

    We used the hosted checkout page to capture tokenized card numbers that we could then use for re-authorizations for recurring payments. We don't use the built in recurring option because we often have to adjust the amount to run.

    There are 2 big problems we're having with the replacement hosted checkout pages.

    1) On Payeezy, when a customer completed the payment on the hosted page, Payeezy would send an HTTP post back to…

  10. Ability to Export a Recurring payment plan. We have subscription payments each month and I need to be able to export a recurring plan so I can sort it to compare to the list of active subscriptions. Each month we are adding/subtracting subscriptions or prorating amounts. Currently, the list of customers is in a random order.

  11. In the transactions search bar, we should be able to enter a customer name or business name to find a transaction or multiple transactions within a specific date range. The current system does not allow for this specific search. Our firm was on the Payeezy platform, and it allowed us to search by name seamlessly.

  12. Partial Payments no way to know that there was a partial payment and no screen is prompted asking for the next payment. When a partial payment is made it says "Payment Successful" it should instead prompt a screen for the remainder balance.

  14. How cool would it be able to search for open orders from Dashboard and not just from the device? Then from there, in the dashboard, if you could send the "open order" to customer as an invoice with ability to pay right from there that would be even better. Would be practical for those who stop in or call in an order but then want to be invoiced. Our staff in store is too busy to do this or be able to find the open orders. Would be cool if we could do so from afar without having to be…

  15. We have created a "pay now" button for our website home page so clients that receive a statement in the mail can easily make a payment online.. That part seems to be working well.. My problem is I do not get any type of notification that a payment has bean made.. So when I try to balance my daily deposit I notice numbers not matching then the search is on.. It would just be really really nice to get an email when a payment is made online through the hosted check out

The update that took place 9/28/23 disabled the ability to scan the barcode on the receipt when in the Tip App. This feature is VITAL when you are dealing with 100 printed receipts after a rush that you then have to scroll and search to find each one to enter the tip amount. PLEASE bring it back...

  19. We are a Used Car Dealership. Customers make large payments. Recently they have been saying that only a partial amount has been approved and did we want to take it. We always choose NO. However it turns out that if is made with a debit card, the card is still charged an deposited in our account 8 days later even when our transactions show it was voided out and returned to the customer. We are worried that this will start looking like fraud to the customer since our Clover devices say it was voided even when it wasn't and still…
