Partial refunds
The merchant needs to be able to partially refund incorrect orders before the settlement/batch. If an employee accidentally adds an item to the order, the current method is to void the transaction and do it again. This is not convenient for the business.

Have the ability to refund a transaction to a gift card. Currently Clover is automatically refund a transaction to the original payment method. This does not work for many stores who have a store policy of issue store credit. It is also an issue when items are purchased as gifts. If the gift recipient wants to return the item, the merchant is unable to process the return onto a gift card.

Today, I needed to do a partial refund for tips that were overcharged in error by the server. I called support to guide me with this transaction in the dashboard. She sent me to use the Refund App which involves calling back the client to get a credit card number in order to complete the transaction. Insane! Such an inconvenience for clients in this time era! Clover Tech take note: this function needs to be put in the right place, right on the Clover app not outside of it.

The Clover HAS to be able to issue partial refunds without having to contact the customer for the card details again. If the system can issue full refunds, it certainly should be able to issue a partial refund.

There needs to be an option to do a partial refund for a specific transaction. It isn't always possible get the card number again to issue a partial refund.

How about adding a simple refund like a cash register has.
- Hit refund
- enter amount to refund
- pick category/item
- hit continue and the cash draw opens. At least this way the customer gets a cash refund and the sales numbers are somewhat correct.

This is so important for all of the merchants I work with. I have no idea why this feature isn't available. Please add a partial refund to the high-priority feature list.

Has this feature been implemented yet? The fact that this functionality was not even thought of is mind blowing....

This is absolutely ridiculous, I see you guys have taken this idea and just made an app to charge people to do partial refunds! I don't even get that many refunds; 3 this year to justify an expense to pay for that option! You guys need to do better!!!! Get this system up and running have your tech team place the code in the refund app itself... Getting so frustrated with you guys!

The ability to link the transaction with the order. Why? If a customer wants to do a return without a receipt. If the last 4 digits of the credit card is given, the merchant can then pull up the transaction/order and apply a full or partial refund to the original transaction.

Very hopeful the partial refund feature will be available in the web dashboard soon. We are having to push some healthcare merchants to other gateway solutions since Clover has this limitation.

Agreed! What good is a POS system that can’t perform all of the necessary functions of a POS system? This is a thing I had to do today and after 5 minutes of not being able to figure out how to give a partial refund for one item or even a cash refund, I finally gave up, opened the cash drawer manually and gave the guy the refund. Now I have to figure out how to account for that so that my drawer still balances. Also, my store sells products for many other vendors, consignment style, so I also have to figure out how to account for that refund coming from the correct vendor…what a mess!

Right now merchants who do not ring in multiple items do not have a partial refund option without needing to re-enter in full card information. This is a complaint that has come up several times among several different merchants operating in separate industries.

Issuing manual refunds on Clover is near impossible with our business. If a customer comes in without a receipt or we're unable to pull up in orders, and we still want to let the customer exchange the item for another or issue store credit back onto gift card... there's no way to
1) scan the item for manual refund - so system knows what item is coming back into inventory or assign it to a generic category for accounting purposes.
2) refund a partial amount (say it was part of a bogo 1/2 off sale)Please help Clover!
